Change always meant a boulder falling on my house;
a huge summit that needed to be climbed,
a broken bone.
Sudden.
Painful.
Damaging.
This is how I viewed change.
This is also how I viewed myself;
I am someone who is good at dealing with change.
Slowly,
cautiously,
I close my eyes
and listen to the stillness.
For the first time, I can see change in other forms.
A river shaping the earth around it with nothing but
constant,
gentle,
force.
