Today the monsters paused whatever it was they were doing and celebrated the birth of their young king. They have been doing this for as long as any of us can remember. What is strange is that their king has been dead for quite some time, now. However, it does not stop those compassionate creatures from placing the new presents directly on top of the old ones and serving cake that will never be eaten to a corpse that continues to rot with his previous uneaten cake slices. The patissier is sad that the king does not indulge in her cooking, but continues to serve him nonetheless. The monster people's dedication is admirable.
