So, here I am. Just one more step and I'm going to meet my mother. Well..the woman who gave birth to me. I knocked on the door and waited. Nothing. I got the right adress, I hope. Couple of seconds later just before I wanted to leave the door was opened by a tiny, thin, beautiful woman. She's in her fourties. She is dressed in black dress that goes a bit below her knees. Her hair is blonde, almost gold and long. God, she is beautiful. 'Can I help you?' the woman asked. Is she my mother? 'Yeah, hi, I um..' I can't speak. What's hapening to me? 'I'm looking for Lucy Stone' the woman didn't say anything for couple of seconds. 'Who are you?' she asked me. 'An old friend' actually her daughter I thought. 'How old? Don't you know she's dead?' What?! 'She died? How..?' The woman obviosly knows I don't know Lucy in person. 'I'm her daughter' I simply said. 'Come in' she isn't suprised.
Her apartment is small, but, beautiful. She clearly has taste. I came in through a nicley decorated hall in her living room. TV is in the center of the room, and the furniture is pointed at it. Her furniture probbly has at least a decade. Everything is so old in here. I'm afraid if I sit somewhere I'll broke it. 'You are beautiful', she said 'just like you're mom. I'm Evelyn.' she was looking at me with her big brown eyes and expected an explenation why am I here. I mean, I would expect it. 'I'm Alex..' she interrupted me 'Yeah, I know.. I was there when you were born. Do you want a cup of tea? I am making it for myself, but since you're here.' 'Yeah, a cup of tea would be really nice, thank you' I answerd kind of still in shock, 'please sit, I'll be back in a minute.' I sat on a chair and I really hope that it won't broke. At least while I'm sitting on it. Evelyn came in few minutes later with tea. She put a cup infront of me and smiled. 'Thank you' I said. She didn't say a word. 'So, my mo..Lucy, she is dead?' i asked. 'Yes, she is' I can't believe this. I came all the way from Scotland to London for..nothing. 'How..why..when..?' 'Well it was eighteen years ago, just before you were born. You are a miracle Alex.' What?! 'What do you mean?' I asked, quite shocked. 'Someone found her, almost dead. Called an ambulance, they tried to save you both..but she was already gone when they brought her in the hospital. So, they saved you, Alex.' Oh my God, I can't belive this, she killed herself...while she was pregnant, how selfish you have to be to do that? 'I'm sorry I wasted your time' and mine. I got up, ready to leave. 'Actually, Alex, if you want some answers..' 'Who is my father?' I asked, not really sure why. 'I don't know.' oh 'But, I have something that'll help you understand some things..Alex.' She took an old book from her bookshelf. 'And that will help me, how?' 'This is your mother's diary. She was really mysterious girl, Alex. She got herself in a lot of trouble. Read this, and it will change your opinion of her, which I know is no good.' 'How do you know that?' 'Oh, come on. The woman killed herself while she was nine months pregnant. I can bet you don't love her.' 'Who are you? How did you know Lucy?' I asked. 'She saved my life'
The ride from London was really boring. My radio broke down so I didn't have anything to listen to and no one with I could talk. I could just think. And I did. I thought about what happened. Evelyn gave me this book, diary, whatever it is.. and it's calling me to read it. I took small black book, laid on my bed and started to read my mother's handwriting, and her mind.
