Chapter 2

The day went by rather slowly so Olivia was happy when it was time for lunch, her stomach growled loudly-just as loud as the students as she entered the lunchroom. She waited in line for what felt like forever, She grabbed her tray and scooted down the lunch lines as other students grabbed what looked like slop. She eyed the lunch ladies as they scooped food onto her tray. when she did finally get her food she went to sit down at the tables.

The tables weren't even that clean, they still had crumbs from the last group of kids. She gagged at her food and pushed it aside. The lunch ladies weren't even wearing hairnets. It was disgusting. The only thing they wore was very thin gloves. She could have sworn that she saw one sneeze in the mac and cheese bowl. She was not eating this...

It wasn't long until Matt and Ava joined her. As usual, Ava looked happy to see her. Of course, Ava was always that type of person to be overly excited about everything. For example, one time in science class we got to use the weights to measure the mass of an object. She went ecstatic about it, it was pretty funny seeing her just smile over the dumbest things. Olivia smiled at the memory.

"Hi, Olivia! How was your day so far? Mine was good-no it was really funny! Today the history teacher was being really funny again, some student fell asleep and he slapped the desk making him jump, and then in art class... " Ava continued to talk about her day though Ava lost her awhile ago, she tended to talk...a lot. Olivia didn't mind it though, she thought it was funny.

Ava had chocolate skin and black hair that went just past her shoulders with hazel eyes. Olivia was slightly taller than her which made her pretty short, unfortunately, Devon found it funny to pick on her about it.

Matt rolled his eyes "you're going to make Olivia's head explode with all that talking" He yawned lazily resting his head on his hands. Ava pouted at him and stopped taking. He stilled when he saw Ava's expression "kidding! only kidding" he said chuckling.

Ava Crossed her arms "Ok, how was your day matt?" She asked in a slightly sassy tone, Matt shrugged and opened his mouth to talk but was interrupted.

"He probably fell asleep in class again" Rachel joked sitting down next to Olivia. Matt glared at her. He never liked her, same with Ava, he thought she was a whore-witch he isn't wrong but still.

"god your disgusting" he mumbled getting up, Ava picked at her food avoiding eye contact. The table quickly got awkward as Matt disappeared to get his food, once he was gone, Rachel broke into laughter.

Ava glared at her, "it's not funny, sleeping with the teacher is gross" she yelled bravely. Rachel stopped laughing and stared at Ava in surprise.

"Hey, I did it to help Olivia ok? So you're welcome" Rachel scoffed putting her hands on her hips. At times like this Olivia really hated Rachel but Olivia's kind personality wouldn't let her tell Rachel off.

"It's still disgusting" Matt snapped sitting down next to Ava. Olivia looked at the group nervously not sure what to do, They fought and argued before but this time seemed different.

Matt turned to Olivia. "I get that you want me to be friends with this whore but I'm done! She is beyond disgusting, I can't be friends with someone like this and I'm not about to let you drag Ava down with you!" Matt quickly got up his face red with anger.

"He's just in a bad mood, he'll get over it," Rachel said sassily with a shrug. "Olivia get your friends in order"

Matt glared at Rachel and sighed "I'm sorry for losing my cool but as long as Rachel is with you I'm staying away" Matt said walking away.

Ava looked at Olivia and Rachel with guilt "I'm sorry" she mumbled before rushing off with Matt. Olivia groaned and buried her face in her hands.

"Really Rachel? Why couldn't you keep your mouth shut, you drove them away" Olivia sighed frustrated.

Rachel looked at her slightly 'hurt' Olivia saw it more like disbelief. "I helped you this morning and by the way, those morons attacked me first so It's not my fault they can't stand me" She scowled getting up. "After everything, I did for you I thought you would have my back" Rachel Stormed off leaving Olivia alone.

Olivia ran her hands through her hair confused and frustrated, just 5 mins ago everything was fine or she thought it was.

"Hey, are you ok?" A girl asked as she sat next to Olivia, Olivia recognized the girl, the new student Sophia. "I saw what happened, school drama can get rough."

Olivia laughed "yeah no kidding, they fight like there's no tomorrow" For the rest of the lunch Olivia and Sophia talked about anything and everything, they complained about the lunch food, drama queens,(which they both agreed that Rachel was one of them) and the bad teachers that worked here. Of course, they talked about good things too, like summer break and hobbies.

They were both disappointed when the lunch bell rang, they said they're goodbyes and headed off their classes.

When Olivia got to her class and opened her folder, she was surprised when a small piece of paper fell out.

She was confused not sure what it meant, she soon realized that it was Sophia's snapchat name. She hoped that she and Sophia could become good friends, there was something about Sophia that interested Olivia, what that was she didn't know yet. Olivia smiled slightly as she pulled out her phone.
