chapter 1

Olivia screamed and fell off her bed as her phone rang loudly. The phone scaring the crap out of her, almost immediately waking her up. She groaned and shielded her eyes from the bright sun. She sat up and picked up her phone tiredly and slightly annoyed. Her fingers feeling cramped from not moving them all night.

"Hello?" She mumbled yawning. Her lips felt dry and her voice was tired.

"Olivia?! Did you just wake up? School started an hour ago!" Bailey yelled through the phone.

Olivia's eyes widened "What?!" Olivia yelled shocked "I must have slept in! My dad is going to kill me!" She stood up quickly and became lightheaded. She tripped over the clothes that she had left on the ground, she fell to the ground with a thud. Luckily it was carpet, but it still knocked the wind out of her.

Olivia could hear Bailey groan on the other side of the phone "be ready in 10 and I'll be there you clumsy mess" she sighed before hanging up.

Olivia sighed in relief and glanced at the time, it was already 9:00! "Shoot!" She shout-whispered, She had to sneak out to the bathroom to get dressed. She grabbed her clothes silently, with her phone rested between her cheek and her shoulder. She tried to keep her footsteps silent, she didn't want her dad hearing her. She wouldn't get caught dead late for school. That would have consequences.

Olivia heard a car honking outside, she grabbed her stuff and rushed out of the house. Bailey grinned at her as she got in. "You're welcome," Bailey laughed as she drove off to the school. Bailey was always the type that person to be overly proud of herself.

Olivia rolled her eyes "My dad could have been home you know, he could have heard you" Olivia murmured smirking.

Bailey grinned once more,

"Yeah but he wasn't, his car was gone. Nice try Olivia"

Olivia and Bailey have known each other for almost 2 years, they met in 8th grade after being assigned partners during a science project. She remembered being so shy and barely talking. After that, they stuck together getting through freshman year together. Its funny to compare how much she talked then and how much she talked now.

But Olivia didn't know why Bailey even hung out with her, Bailey was rich and spoiled and Olivia-well she didn't have much to show off. Not to mention Bailey was drop-dead gorgeous. She had long silky brown hair, and bright blue eye, she also had the body of a model. To be honest there's no reason Bailey would hang out with her yet here they are.

Olivia gave Bailey a sideways glance, Bailey looked at her confused "What is it? Is there something on my face?" She asked looking at her.

Olivia shook her head "No just thinking, the school is going to call my dad you know"

Bailey smiled "No they won't, the principle is super hot so I'm sure I can get him to keep his mouth shut" Olivia looked away awkwardly, she didn't always agree with Bailey's methods but she was a loyal friend. Bailey burst out laughing "unless you want your dad to know?" To be honest, she would rather have the principle be 'dealt with', than her dad find out about her being missing from school.

Olivia shook her head "No no it's not that...it's just I thought you were dating the math teacher" Olivia said confused and slightly disgusted. Bailey just shrugged and stared at the road in front of her, clenching her jaw slightly.

The rest of the ride to the school was quiet. It was really awkward after that. They pulled into the school parking lot and got out, they slammed the doors behind them.

"I'll see you in English class later," Bailey said unbuttoning the top of her shirt slightly. She walked into the school and disappeared. She honestly thought it was kinda gross, but whether she liked it or not, it always worked.

Olivia sighed and walked to her locker. Today she decided to wear heels, and she liked the sound of the taping down the hallways.

Olivia opened her locker with success even though it was kind of rusty. She headed to her class, she would have to thank Bailey later. She went into her classroom and sat down at a seat. She jumped as 2 hands slammed on the desk.

"Hey bitch, that's my seat-Get out" Devon growled, her boyfriend Marco stood behind her crossing his arms. The room went quiet as Olivia's face flushed red. "Um hello? Did you not hear me? Move!" Olivia quickly grabbed her stuff and moved to the back of the room, she could hear Devon's laughter filling the room.

Olivia groaned and buried her face in her books, what a great way to start the day.

The teacher walked in and hushed everyone "everyone, please quiet down" miss Lee said softly. Miss Lee was probably the nicest teacher in the school, everyone loved her. "Today we have a new student, Sophia would you like to introduce yourself?"

A tall girl stood in front of the class, she had long black hair and bright blue eyes, a thin line of freckles covered her face. Olivia's breath was gone, Sophia was gorgeous. The boys were practically drooling over her. She looked at them disgusted and smiled.

"Hi I'm Sophia, I used to live in Ohio and play the guitar, well I still play the guitar," she said smiling.

Miss Lee smiled clearly satisfied "thank you, Sophia, maybe one day we could hear you play?"

Sophia smiled nodded "That would be nice, I never had an audience." Miss Lee's smile grew. "Well, we're happy to have you here. You can go and sit next to Olivia in the back."

Sophia smiled at Olivia as she sat down "Hi, you don't mind if I sit here do you?" she asked.
