I had been crying in front of the tree for what felt like hours, the memories and pain overwhelming me.
Then, I heard a voice that sent chills down my spine.
"You're here," he said softly.
I turned to see him standing there, his expression unreadable.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, my voice shaking as I wiped the tears from my face.
"Your mom was worried. She didn't know where you were, and she told me you've been crying," he replied, stepping closer.
The words hit me harder than I expected, and the emotions I had been holding back came rushing forward. "You're getting married," I said, my voice cracking as the tears welled up again.
"Yes," he said simply, his gaze fixed on me.
"Good for you," I said with forced cheer, though the ache in my chest betrayed me. "Guess you found the one."
"Y/N... I—"
"I have to go," I interrupted, pushing myself up from the ground and turning away. I couldn't listen to whatever he wanted to say. It hurt too much.
As I began to walk away, I felt his arms wrap around me from behind, pulling me into a hug that stopped me in my tracks.
"I won't let you go again without knowing what I want to say," he whispered, his voice trembling.
