Walking up to the house felt surreal.

My legs felt numb, and I felt nervous, I could feel the inside of my gut shaking, why did I feel like this?  Is it because of their other kids?  Or is it because he's famous?  Oh god, can't I just calm down for five minutes?!  Misha put his hand on my shoulder and smiled at me.

"You're gonna be fine.  It's just a house."  I smiled my best "I'm happy" smile and nodded.  Without either of them trying to give me anymore words of advice, I took my suitcase and walked to the porch.

"Just knock!  Our babysitter should be awake!"  Vicki called to me from the car, trying to get the other suitcase out.  I nodded, even though I had no intention of knocking in the first place, I was just gonna stand there and wait for either of them to come and knock.  I turned to the door and quietly knocked, begging that the babysitter wasn't going to answer.  One of the door locks clicked opened as the door slowly creaked to reveal, a kid.

Oh god.

I made eye contact with the kid, who I was pretty sure was a girl, and she smiled lightly.  I, on the other hand, stood on the porch, completely terrified of what I was supposed to do.  Do I talk to it?  How?  What do I say?  Do I smile?  What if it starts crying?   What do I do, what do I do, what do I do?!  Suddenly she spoke.

"Hi..."  She mumbled.  I stared at her and gave her my best "I'm not scared of you" smile.

"Hi."  I stood there and gripped the strap of my backpack, just staring at her.  Then someone came up from behind her.

"Maison!  Next time someone knocks, come and get me."  The girl, who looked about my age, walked over and opened the door all the way, finally noticing me.  "Oh!  Hi, can I help you?" My eyes flicked up to hers and we both made eye contact with each other.  Now what was I supposed to do?  Say no?  I'm gonna freaking live here!  Then finally, Misha walked up behind me and saved this horrifying conversation from crashing and burning into the ground like the hindenburg disaster.  The kid, who was apparently named Maison, grinned and bolted from the door, straight at Misha.  He grabbed her from off the ground and hugged her.  I watched them before looking back at the Babysitter, who was walking back into the house, calling for someone else.  "West!  Mom and Dad are home!"  Is she one of their kids too?  Suddenly the sound of pattering feet above us grew louder, then another kid appeared out of nowhere, flying down the stairs.  Then Vicki appeared, picked him up, and hugged him tightly.  And I stood in the middle of it all.  Misha let go of Maison and smiled at the other chick who was here originally.

"Thanks for watching them Kelsey."  Kelsey smiled.

"No problem.  They were great.  They couldn't wait to see their mom and dad."  She slowly looked to me, putting a hand on her hip and cocking an eyebrow.  "Who are you?"  I opened my mouth to talk, but was quickly interrupted by Vicki.

"Kelsey, this is Delaney.  She's our new member of the family.  Del, this is Kelsey, our on call babysitter."  I smiled at her, but she just gave me a light glare.  She sighed, plastering on a fake smile.

"Cool!  Great to meet you Del.  So Vicki, how was the trip?"  Kelsey flipped her hair as she pushed passed me to talk to Vicki.  I stumbled back slightly and adjusted my backpack. Jeez, what a bitch.  I just got here and people already hate me?  Not surprising, I guess.  Vicki yawned.

"It was great, but right now we're probably just gonna rest, so we'll see you later, ok?"  Kelsey sighed and nodded.

"Sounds good!"  She turned around and shot me a glare, but when Misha looked over, her face lifted and she grinned fakely.  "Great to meet you Del!"  She turned around and walked to the door, waving to us as she left.  I stared at her as she walked out the door, a slight grimace on my face.  She didn't seem to really like me.  Why?  I have no idea...
