in a challenge to write a poem about Cupid
Fallen
a brilliant bold sun
rose the day I saw Psyche
dimmed when it met her smile
the stars at night
shame-faced meeting her eyesnow don't get me wrong
it was lust unreinedI knew she felt the same
shameless bestial
but it was not to be
oh how I suffered
the years she wandered
the years squanderednow don't get me wrong
I care not for lovethe binding the agony
the hearts the flowers
not for me
I am the god of carnality
yet I fell
like any callow school-boy
needing her gaze
craving her lips
undone by lovenow don't get me wrong
I enjoy a good meal as anyso there was a celebration
a ritual banquet
forever and exclusivity
promised
and now I am no more
purveyor of lust
I am the minion of Love
in challenge to write a poem about my first love
Darling One
There is in my heart
a bright tiny house
where you yet dwellThere is in my mind
a country lane
where we still walkThere is in my soul
a quiet prayer
you too walk thereThere is in my life
an empty space
that you once filled
in challenge to write a Valetine Card verse
Dearheart
in the still of night
in the early morning light
in the evening sun
for the moments we are onefor your promise to be true
for the child dressed in blue

in my very heartfelt waymuch more than mortal platitude
you have my deepest gratitude
you are my love throughout all time
