America needed a soldier to protect our beloved country, So I volunteered. My mother was against my opinion to join the army, because my father was in the army, but he was kidnapped and brutally murdered by Syria. I understand that she doesn't want me to get hurt like my father, but there wasn't that many people joining anymore since my father was kidnapped and murdered. I had to be brave, it was for the whole country. She made me promise her that I would return home safely, but i crossed my fingers.... Don't get me wrong, I'm kind of scared too, anything can happen.
The day had come, I packed my clothes, and hugged my mother. As I got on the Military bus the grounds, I watched my mom wave while crying. I don't know if she is going to be ok when I'm gone. She's 68 years old. I remember when i moved out of the house, she was just like this.
I got a text from my sister, which read
*Hey Brad, good luck in Syria, are you sure it's not too late to turn back? Anyway, Love you. -Mary*
I was just about to send her a reply when I got a phone call.... Its was my wife, Kerri
"Hey Honey"
"Hey......... "
"Everything Ok Kerri?"
"-sniffles- yes.... everything is fine"
"Are you sure? you're crying"
"Yes, I'm fine, I just have to tell you that..
"That... what?"
"No, It wait untill you come home"
"ok"
"I love you -still sniffling-"
"I love you too"
A tear rolled down my cheek, what if my mom is right. what if I don't come back. I'm saying goodbye to my wife, my mother, my sister, my home, my........ life.........
