Ok so I'm doing a project on Amelia Earhart and because of this I ran into a lil something about her younger sister Grace. Amelia gave her sister the nickname Pidge! Pidge! Just like our favorite gremlin green paladin Pidge Gunderson (Katie Holt). Now, we all know that Matt was the one who gave Katie her nickname of Pidge (it's even shown that at first she hated the nickname and told Matt not to call her it but told him to start calling her it again when he was showing get the rocket claiming that she'll miss it while he's in space) but they never told us why Pidge. Did he just look at a pigeon turn to his younger sister and say "that bird over there is you"? I don't really think so. They are both crazy smart and it wouldn't surprise me if they knew the history of aviation at least fairly well. I can totally see Pidge and Matt looking up to Amelia Earhart as a role model when they were little. So what if Matt found out that Amelia called her little sister Pidge as a nickname and started to copy that with his own sister since they both looked up to her!!??
