I walk in the halls,

to my class. My dress is itchy, and my makeup is fading. The smile glued on my face is begging to leave, and I'm tired. I stop in the bathroom to look at my reflection in the mirror. But the person whom I see isn't me, it's a stressed girl hiding behind her thick layers of blush, eye liner, and lip gloss. Her teeth are too white, her clothes too clean, and her eyes showed she was trying too hard. Clearly, she was scared. I pull my dress down, and fiddled with my hair which I couldn't seem to get right. I smiled one last time, and then casually walked back out in the hallway with a fake confidence I practiced so hard on to perfect it.  Classmates looked up at me with hopeful looks, and I nodded encouragingly back at them. Everything went as normal until I spotted my 'friend' laughing at someone. the victim whiped away tears, and hurried back down the hallway all alone. That was when I couldn't take it any longer. I rushed up beside her, noticing my old friend staring at me quizically. Shaking my head, I turned away from her, and walked beside the victim. I noticed her tangled hair thrown up in a pony tail, and pimples where dotting up all around her face. She hugged her books to her chest and looked around for something, anything, to distract herself. And that is when she saw me. Before she could turn around and walk away from me, I grabbed her hand, and stopped her from going anywhere, She struggled against my grasp, but I was too strong for her. "Hey," I said softly, deciding something that could change my life forever, but of course I wouldn't care. I was just like her, behind my makeup and cute clothes. So was everyone really! I smiled at her apoligetically, which got her attention. She looked at me, and I could tell she had a whole new story, a whole new life than most of my friends. She, like everyone else on earth, was worth being friends with. I smiled, and asked confidently;

"Wanna be friends?"
