To be Young and Naive (on hold for possibly the next few weeks)

Chapter Three

Jackson and Rick looked at me as if I had suddenly grown two heads after my little outburst. I sat there looking up at them and suddenly felt embarrassed about stating that I knew Daniel. Daniel talked of his old pack often but never mentioned why he left the Blood Moon Pack and I had never asked why.

Rick brought me out of my train of thought as he cleared his throat and I noticed the sudden change of emotions in the air. Jackson went stiff and Rick looked as if he was about to go A wall.

“How do you know Daniel?” Jackson asked as if he was asking about something top secret. I looked at him for a moment and then bowed my head.

“We are…were in the same pack. I left a week ago and that’s why I’m here in your lands.” I said softly and then looked back up to Jackson then Rick.

“Yes Daniel is my brother…” He said barely able to hear him. I just sat there and looked at him unsure of what to say so I pulled my knees up under my chin and let out a sigh as we sat in the uncomfortable silence.

“Are you a close friend of Daniels or his mate?” Jackson asked suddenly and I looked at him with a faint smile.

“ I wish he was my mate, but I’m a close friend of his…He was training me before I bolted out of my pack under my wolfs advice.” I stated as I looked between the men.

“Then since you were my brothers friend you have safe passage through my land or if you wish you may stay. Daniel would be enraged if something happened to you and he found out I knew who you were.” Rick said with a heavy sigh.

“Where were you headed….? Um by the way what is your name little wolf?” Asked Jackson as he walked over to the love seat and plopped down on it.

“Anna…My name is Anna. And I don’t have a particular place in mind. I’m just looking for a new start in life.” I plainly stated as I slowly stood from the floor.

“Ahhh are you in search of your mate? We have a few men here who are still looking for their mates or looking for a new one…the few that have survived there mates death.” Rick said with a half grin. I looked at him with a solid face trying not to let my emotions get the best of me at the mention of a mate.

“No I’m not looking for either…I found mine in my old pack, and he is very much alive.” I said with a sneer through gritted teeth.

Both Jackson and Rick looked at me with confused hard faces and then they turned to each other, clearly using their mind link to speak to one another. They both then turned to me and looked as if they had something to say or ask, but were unsure of how to go about it. I sighed heavily then said

“Alfa Conner Nathaniel Black is my mate. He rejected me for my best friends sister so I left.”

“Rejected you? But why? I don’t see a thing wrong with you…well except for the fact that you can’t fight very well and you’re not that big of a wolf” Jackson said as if it was a matter of fact.

“Actually he never said exactly why he rejected me, but it doesn’t matter anymore. He can live the life of a player all he wants now because I will never go back to him.” I said looking both the men dead in their eyes. They both looked at me with pity in their eyes, which I hated.

“Look I’m not looking for pity. I’m looking for a new life, home, family, and friends, but not pity guys.” I said sternly as I went to the seat in front of Ricks desk and plopped down in it. Rick looked as if he was in deep thought or intently studying the crevasse of his desk and then he looked at Jackson and then to me.

“Join us Anna. Join us and we can offer you what you seek and much more…perhaps even love and I don’t mean family love.” He said with pride in his voice. I sat there hesitant to what I would say. I couldn’t make a decision like that right on the spot so I looked at both of them and finally said.

“Give me time to sleep on it and I will have your answer.”

“Jackson will show you to your room and you can have two days to think over my offer. The decision is up to you, but know this Anna I will not make this offer again.” Alfa Rick said as he stood and Jackson came to my side as I stood as well to show me to my room.

Third Chapter in one night. I'm on a roll. It may not seem that grand but I promise it gets better. Sorry for such a short chapter.
