"One Mochaccino coming up!" I start towards the machine when Sabrina appears beside me.

"You know what?" she asks me, looking through the people around the cafe and then towards where boss stands, talking to some customer and smiling.

"What?"

"Boss stopped yelling at you. It was like some sort of distraction for him, he seems all...."

"Nice? Right?" I say, pushing the button and the liquid starts to drop into the cup in my hand.

"Not really... he started shouting at everyone else but you. Even when they didn't do anything." she says without looking at me and I went back to the counter to pass the cup to the customer while she follows me.

"You mean I'm supposed to be the only one who should listen to his bickering?" I said, facing her. "Well sorry, but I was going through the same thing before-"

"No! It's not like that. Just look at him, doesn't he seem frustrated?" I raise an eyebrow, quizzically at her.

"I don't understand what are you're trying to say, Sabrina."

"When he shouts at you it's not like he's actually shouting or rather, I must say you shouting at him or you telling him to back off but when he shouts at the other staff... it's as if he is actually shouting," she explains with hands in the air.

"I still don't get you." I cross my arms over my chest and she sighs.

"Look! He is watching us... Or you." she whispers the last part and I look in the direction she was looking before and found him looking at me with his hands in pocket. He immediately averts his gaze when he sees me looking back at him.

"So? It's his duty to keep a check on us." I tell her while I pick up the cups and set them in order on the table behind the counter.

"You don't get me. Look, I've noticed it quite a few times now. I know that he knew you before through Anna and he also asks anything he needs from you although that's not the case now and don't you think that's what getting him? Not coming at you and..."

"I don't pay you girls for chit-chat!" boss appears at the counter and I see Sabrina flinch at his stern voice, he glares at Sabrina and then his eyes land upon me and I give him a blank look. "I'm noticing both of you," he says, pointing two of his fingers to his eyes and then in our direction.

"Yes boss," I reply to him, plainly and go back to arranging the cups. He stands there for a while and when I don't look at him back, he stomps away.

"Did you see that? That's what I was talking about!" she whispers to me while looking in the direction where he just went.

"I didn't see anything," I tell her, rolling my eyes.

"You were so plain with no witty comebacks and that is what's making him mad. Did you see the way he stomped away?!"

"Maybe we should get back to work because customers are filling in," I said, pointing at the door and with a hitch she runs back to her desk.

After a few hours, my shift ended and I changed back to my dress. I came outside the cafe and huff out a breath and inhale the fresh air.

"You're going home?" I look at my left, he was standing there with a cup in his hands probably drinking something.

"Uh.. yes," I reply to him, looking down at my dress. I was wearing my floral printed, long sleeved casual maxi, my curves are hidden underneath it.

"Right, Anna asked me to drop by today. Let's go together." he was moving towards me.

"But I had something to do on my way," I tell him.

Well, I had that plan in mind so I needed things to do on my way, it was the truth.

"It's okay, I can help with that."

He wouldn't know what I was up to even if he comes along with me.

"Suit yourself," I say, shrugging.
