ANYA let out a loud sigh as she looked down at the corpse that lie on the group. It had been the fourth murder this month, the first had a different motive mainly focussing on the eyes but now the victims had defensive wounds scattered around their bodies.

The eyes were still the same though, burned out of its socket. Anya was a little confused as to why someone would show up in her small down and do such a thing.

Anya let out a sigh and called over the sheriff.

"Same as the last, defensive wounds and burnt eyes." Anya muttered, picking up her sunglasses and resting them on her eyes.

Sheriff Conners nodded and motioned for the Forensics to come over. "Damn town is going down the gutters."

"You got that right." Anya muttered, reaching up and releasing her hair from it's hair tie she continued. "I am going to go down and check on─"

"Excuse me," The Sheriff and Deputy's attention was drawn to two men. "Agent Rhodes, I'm with the FBI. My partner and I have been called down to investigate the murders that have happened."

Anya rose a brow and eyed them wearily, "Form of identification?"

The Sheriff rose a hand to shush Anya, "It's alright, Deputy. Why don't you take one of these men down to Riley?"

Anya turned to him in disbelief and opened her mouth to say something, only to close it one again when the Sheriff gave her a look.

Anya turned to the two men and let out a sigh, "Alright then, who wants to go see the dead bodies."

Both of the men looked at each other and shared a look. The tallest of the group, the one who introduced himself as Rhodes, opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by the other agent.

"I believe Agent Rhodes should go examine the dead bodies with you." Came the man's gruff voice. Anya pursed her lips and started to walk away.

"You coming, Agent?" She asked raising a brow and gave him an impatient look.

Agent Rhodes let out a sigh and muttered something to his partner before making his way towards Anya.

Anya swiftly pulled out a pair of keys and let out a low whistle, "We're taking my ride."

Riley Atwell sent Anya a smile as she walked into the her small office at the hospital. Riley and Anya have known each other for a very long time. Growing up in such a small town the two girls instantly became friends, along with their mutual friend Tabre.

Riley handed Agent Rhodes and Any a each a clipboard that held information from the biopsy.

"Karen Lin Chang, twenty three, cuts and bruising on the arms." She led them to the morgue and walked over to one of the freezers and slid it open. "Eyes, well she has none."

Rhodes' nose scrunched up at the corpse that lay on the counter.

"So, ehm, anything different about the other victims." Rhodes looked to Doctor Atwell and handed her clipboard.

Riley shook her head, "Pretty much the same, the only difference between the latest victims is the first showed no signs of defense." Riley handed him a picture of the first victim.

"Liam Donally he was thirty-four, married, child on the way." Anya muttered to Sam. "Neighbours reported a large flash of light coming from next door."

Agent Rhodes nodded, "Did anyone notice Liam acting different prior to his death? Maybe a little withdrawn?"

Anya's eyes furrowed and nodded slightly, "He was acting a little strange, but that was mainly because he lost a job."

Riley shook her head and muttered something to herself. Anya and Agent Rhodes turned to her and motioned for her to continue.

Riley cleared her throat. "Liam and his wife are very religious." She elaborated, "but I haven't seen Liam at church the past three weeks."

Rhodes nodded and pulled out a small flip phone. "I'll contact my partner."

When Rhodes left the room the two women scurried to uncover the bodies. Riley motioned towards the door Agent Rhodes left from. "Ill keep watch, do your thing."

Anya quickly brought her hands to her eyes and removed her coloured contacts.

It wad bright, Anya had to squint her eyes to she old herself from her heightened senses. "Lower the lights."

Her eyes were closed till she knew it was okay, then it was bright. Everything came into focus and her eyes looked down at the three bodies in the room.

"Stand back." She muttered as she walked towards the victims and hovered a hand over one of them. "Do not touch me no matter what."

Then, a flash of purple, and suddenly it was like Anya had left the room.

i wonder where imma take this one.
