I walked into math class, sitting in the back.
The cutest boy, TJ looked at me and handed a note with a red heart.
I looked to him smiling.
He mouthed, "open it"
He then turned around facing the front, laughing with his friends.
I opened the note, of course.
In big black letters, it read, GEEK, NERD, my favorite, BITCH.
I was fighting back tears, like I do everyday.
One slipped down my cheek, as I wiped it away quickly.
I looked down in my book ignoring my teacher, I'm not going to pass anyway.
"With Amiyah." She called out.
I looked up and saw him.
He was walking towards me.
As he sat down, he looked at me as if I was supposed to speak.
"Umm... I- was just- umm," I tripped over my words.
"Well, you can plan the project or whatever and meet me at lunch behind the school,"
"What?" I asked, confused.
"The project, I'm your new partner," he got up.
I looked at him walk away once again. Wondering why.
Then I realize I was the only person in the class, damn. I'm late for my next class.
I was mesmerized by his character, the birds inked on his skin, the dark curls on his head, his- what am I thinking?!? I'm gonna be late!!
