Stella was a well-behaved girl, although she never liked to listen. She was very stubborn to people that she knows very well, but visitors often see her as an angel. She looked like an angel too, with her green eyes, rosy cheeks and blonde hair. She may be not the type of girl to babble, but she can ramble on about the stars. Nobody knows why Stella was always intrigued by these twinkling clusters of dust. But, it wasn’t just the stars Stella admired, also the heavenly bodies of the universe: the planets, comets, rocks, especially nebulas.

Stella had seen a meteor shower once, and boy, she could feel her heart make a somersault. She saw a shooting star, and wished,

“I want to see the stars. No, not as far as the ones you see in the starry night. I want to see them closer. As close as I can without burning, of course. I wish… I wish someone can take me there.”

As soon as she opened her eyes, she could hear a strange whooshing sound outside. It was very loud. She felt suspicion form at the back of her head, since she has trust issues. It was ironic, though, how she wished for some stranger to take her somewhere nice. She grabbed her emergency baseball bat under her mattress, and held it firmly. She heard the bushes rustle, and quick footsteps running on the grass, right outside her window.

"Maybe it was just a stray animal." She whispered to herelf, thinking that she must have gotten crazy paranoid.

Not long after, she heard a cough. It wasn't hers, of couse, but it was a man's cough, as if he was trying to clear his throat.  It was an intruder, trespassing her parent's grounds. She held her bat above her head, and dashed to the door. She's been in this situation lots of times before, and she doesn't like to let it happen again. She may be an eight-year-old nerd, but she was brave too.

She leaned against the wall next to the door, took a deep breath, and waited for the stranger to get in.

"Hello?" She yelled, trying to get the man's attention. The door then gently swayed open, and Stella's bat swung with force. She had hit the man out.

She dashed for the phone, but then found out that the phone was nowhere to be seen. The intruder slowly fluttered his eyelids and turned conscious.

"Ugh... What?" The man groaned with a British-Scottish accent, holding his hand up to his forehead. What was strange was he had no bruise, nor was he bleeding. He was wearing a blue suit and tie, along with a brown trenchcoat. What was even stranger was he picked a pair of red Converse shoes to get along with his outfit.

Stella stood straight and asked with a firm voice, but failed to do so, because her voice was really squeaky. "Who are you?"

"I'm the Doctor." He smiled, standing up. Stella was confused.

"Doctor Who?"

He smiled even wider. "I love it when people say that. Just the Doctor."

"I'm calling the cops!" She yelled, holding up her bat.

"Call the cops, holding up a bat? They would think you're the trouble here. Also, you've got no phone." He replied, still grinning.

"How did you-"

"Anyways, I got your distress call." He cut her off.

"What distress call?"

"The wish you made, on that very shooting star." He looked around.

"Am I dreaming?" She pinched herself. Nope, she was awake. "But how did you-" the Doctor puts his finger up to her lips, shushing her.

"I'll tell you later." He dashed out the door, gesturing for her to follow him. "Allons-y!"
