Robyn was out on her second date with Alice who she had met at her second year of high school, she was still yet to tell her mother on her biggest secret, she was gay, no one in her family knew and it scared her.
"Ali.. How do I tell my mom and Chad that I'm gay?! Like this is the biggest thing that's happened in my life since my father sacrificed himself, I'm just so nervous and I don't know why because I can trust them with anything" Robyn was visibly shaking and Alice couldn't help but feel sorry for her new found lover as her father was fully accepting of her, she too was in the same situation a year ago but she knew she could tell him. "Look robs.. One thing I have learnt about for the time that I have known you, is you're the most courageous person I know, you're adventurous and nothing fears you, you're mum is the sweetest person I'm sure she'll accept you.. And even if she didn't, you're always welcome round my place, my father loves you to pieces" Alice held onto Robyn's hand tightly.

Time had passed and there date was over "I've really enjoyed this date.. I mean the movie was amazing but seeing it with you made it even better" Alice smiled at Robyn who was still holding her hand tightly after watching a horror movie "Alice that movie scared the living day lights out of me!!! How could you call that an amazing movie!" Robyn half laughed "you're going to have to walk me home and then tell me when you get back!" Robyn continued as they walked in the direction of Robyn's house.Robyn paused in the street for a brief second, seeing a silhouette of an individual in the far distance "who's that?" She asked confused to Alice, who turned to look where Robyn was looking "robs there isn't anything there.. You're probably paranoid after that movie" Alice laughed and nudged Robyn playfully "yeah you're probably right" she replied even though she was still seeing the silhouette in the distance, every time she moved it would move too, like it was following her every movement, they stopped off at the shop before heading back to Robyn's house, Robyn had decided to wait outside whilst Alice went to get what she needed.
She felt a sudden gush of cold air hit her arm which was covered up with many layers of clothes as it was a cold November night she looked around and no one was there, so putting it down to wind she continued thinking of possible scenarios with her mom. 'Robyn' a faint voice called her name pulling her out of her thoughts, turning in the direction she heard it from, she saw the silhouette standing much closer to her, she couldn't quite make out the distinct features but knew it was a man "step forward so I can see you better? You're the one that's been following me aren't you?" She replied 'if I were to step forward, you'd see who I was, and not let me leave, and indeed it is I who was following you.. I just didn't want to freak you out' the voice replied "can you please just show who you are?" Robyn felt on edge not seeing distinct features 'okay.. You have to promise me that you won't tell anyone you saw me.. Not even your mom or girlfriend Alice' Robyn was shocked at how much this person knew "I promise I won't tell a living soul! But why can't I tell them?" Robyn added quickly.
She heard a faint sigh from the man 'because if you told people you saw me, they'd think you were crazy, or that you need to go into therapy' the figure stepped forward, it took Robyn no longer than a couple of seconds to realise who this was "Dad?" Her voice cracked "is..is that really you?" She continued as she pushed down the urge to burst out into tears 'it is me Robyn, I needed to see how grown my beautiful, courageous and adventurous daughter is, and how she is doing!' Robin Replied 'but I also came to tell you about the situation you're struggling with, you coming out as gay, I 100% support you, I may not be here in person but know that I'm still looking out for you and know you've struggled to come to terms with your sexuality but I'm proud of you and who you are, and I know your mom and Regina will be just as proud of you! You don't need to fear coming out to your family, because you're there pride and joy, and they will be with you every step of the way' Robin smiled.
He saw his daughters eyes glisten and tears dropping down from her face "that's all I've ever wanted to know, I never knew if I was making you proud and now I know" Robyn whipped her tears away "I just wish you could stay with me in person, so I could have gotten to know you, but dad, I love you so so much, and miss you everyday!" Robyn knew her time was short as Alice would be out soon 'I love you too my sweetheart! And don't you dare forget it, you could never disappoint me, you're a Hood and Hood's know what to do in the face of a challenge! I must go back now but you'll know what to say when you get back, keep up with your archery, you're getting as good as me! Bye Robyn I love you' as quick as Robin had appeared in her life he disappeared equally as quick "dad.." She squeaked tears reforming on her face.
Alice came out of the shop to see Robyn in a state "Robs.. What happened?!" She panicked and ran straight to Robyn's side, Robyn looked up to meet Alice's eyes and smiled "Nothing, I was just thinking of how much of an impact you've had on my life" she leaned into Alice and gave her a soft kiss on her lips, pulling away Alice smiled, this was the first kiss they both had shared. Robyn stood herself up "now let's go tell my mom, I'm ready, I know she'll accept me for me, and she'll accept you into our family!" Robyn grabbed hold of Alice's hand and walked back to her home smiling that she got to spend the little time with her dad and kiss the girl of her dreams for the first time, the feeling of nerves had been replaced by the feeling of confidence and love.
