Kid Icarus: In the Modern World

Chapter 1

Hey there! So, I was dared by my friend Rachel (Poptartlaz3r) to watch chuggaaconroy's LP of Kid Icarus: Uprising and answer 3 questions and if I got them all right she'd change her name to something stupid for a week. (It got complicated with timing and other things so we haven't completed it) I really got hooked to the game! Sadly, I don't have the game so I can't play it... *sigh* But I really was captivated by Pit, and actually Dark Pit (he's cuter than Pit.. *looks around before sliding lipstick-covered poster of Dark Pit under bed* XD), so I decided I'd make a fan fiction. Please remember that this is strictly copyrighted to Nintendo and Masahiro Sakurai and in no way do I own Pit, Palutena, or any other characters from the Kid Icarus series. Thanks, Rachel (or Jason... *psst, she's the one in our little trio that we nicknamed Jason..*). So now, I'm done ranting about the awesomeness of Kid Icarus (and chuggaaconroy.. *slides lipstick-covered poster of Emile under bed* ehehe..) and now, ON WITH THE STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, also, Pit is equipped with orbitars.. I enjoy them, even if their stats suck.

Pit's PoV

I fly above the clouds, scouting for trouble in case humans start angering Viridi again.. Sigh. Viridi is just so.... insufferable. Suddenly, the golden beam that normally calls me back to Palutena after I finish my missions appears around me.

"Uhhhhh, Lady Palutena? What's going on?!" I ask.

"I do not know.. this is not my doing." Palutena says in my head.

"So you're just gonna let it happen?!" I scream right before I shoot up into the sky, to somewhere unknown.

Kana's PoV (just thought of that name on the fly.. 5:30 am so I'm just going with the flow of my mind.. which is hard to follow... OH I also start middle school in 3 days so I won't be online as much but something awesome is.. My first hour, advanced math, and she likes Minecraft! She's like 20-something, and she likes Minecraft. HECK YES!)

I sit in the comfy armchair in front of the TV, not watching anything but rather reading a book. It's a book of Greek myths, and currently I am reading the myth about Icarus. Suddenly, the TV flickers with a gold light.

"What the-" I exclaim, before something appears out of the TV. It materializes on the floor, but it's not an it- it's a he. He's on his knees, but his body shape isn't entirely human. He wears a white tunic reminiscent of Ancient Greek attire, leather sandals that look kind of like Uggs, a golden wristband on his right wrist, two more on his left, spiky brown hair, blue eyes, and a golden wreath on his head that I think is made of a plant called laurel that was sacred in Ancient Greece. (I'm listening to Chuggaaconroy do an LP of this game...) By his side are two orbs that look like eyes. (Eyetrack Orbitars) The most strange thing about him.. is the two white feathered wings attached to his back.

"Who... who are you?" he asks, in a light, ringing voice that I guess would belong to an angel, assuming that's what he is.

"Forget who I am, who are you?" I ask incredulously.

"I'm Pit, servant of Lady Palutena, goddess of light!" he says, a bit overenthusiastic about his sentence.

"And.. also an angel, it looks like."

"Uh, yeah," he mutters, looking embarrassed, his cheeks red.

"Why are you embarrassed?"

"Well, you'd expect angels to fly, right? I... I can't fly.." he murmurs, flicking his wings a couple times.

"Oh.." I whisper, kind of feeling bad for him. "Well, uh, I'm Kana.."

"And you're a human?" he asks, but his eyes fix on a point in the distance, seeming to listen intently to something inside his head. Then, he shakes his head "no" to something.
