"Summer, what's going on?!" Jack Will, like always, was complaining about his love life to one of his best friends.
"I told you, it appears that you like Auggie." Her nonchalant tone and neutral answer sent Jack over the edge.
"That can't be the case. I'm not gay."
"And how do you know that?"
"Because I haven't liked a guy before!"
Summer put her finger on Jack's lips to stop him from screaming. She sighed. "People change, Jack."
"Well, I don't like Auggie," Jack stated. "You're wrong."
"Is it because..."
"No, not like that. It's just that..." Jack's voice trailed off.
"Well, if you do like him, just be warned," Summer stated.
"What? Why?"
"Well," Summer started standing up, "there's a rumor going around that Amos likes Auggie, too."
"'Too'?" Jack repeated.
Summer smiled. "We'll see."
