It had been a habit of yours since you started living in the bunker that you and Sam would go on morning runs.  In your younger years, you hated any type of physical exercise but God forbid, as you got older you started to enjoy it. Running was kind of an important part of staying alive as a hunter and that had helped your motivation but when the nightmares became too much, going for a run helped clear your thoughts. Sam often had the same problem so you became running buddies. A fact that the elder Winchester was jealous of.

Sure Dean knew there was nothing going on between you two but the fact that Sam shared in something that you enjoyed sparked something in him. But Dean was too proud to all of the sudden take up running and there was no way on earth, heaven, purgatory or hell that he would forsake sleep for running. That is until he lost a bet.

You had just wrapped up a small hunt and decided to stay one more night at the hotel. Though it was a small hunt you had been knocked unconscious and suffered a gash to your head. Dean freaked when he saw how much you were bleeding and kept muttering that he couldn't lose you and that he loved you so you had to be ok. You weren't unconscious for very long and had been dazed while Dean carried you to the Impala you but still understood his words. After the hunt was over and your head had been bandaged you and the green-eyed hunter had the awkward but oh so rewarding 'I like you talk'.

Then the three of you had enjoyed a relaxing evening, knocking back a couple of beers and just talking. You had told them a funny story about your uncontrollable fits of giggles you used to have as a teen when you were really tired. The boys didn't believe it, as much as you were a generally happy person, especially for being a hunter, you rarely laughed anymore. And so a drunk bet was made. Nothing too crazy. Just whichever brother could get you to laugh first would win and the loser had to do something of their choosing. If you didn't laugh at either boy you would win and they both had to do something of your choosing.

As funny as Dean was he didn't get you to laugh. His last joke almost made you lose it but you kept it together. Then Sam started right after, immediately belting out in, "What the funkies!"

That was it. All it took was that stupid phrase. And however stupid an inside joke it was it made you die laughing. It took you a good two minutes to stop laughing and by then both the brothers were smiling, although Deans face held confusion as well.

"What the funkies?" Dean asked hoping to understand what had made you let out your lovely laugh.

And that set you off again. After you calmed down you tried to explain the story to Dean but you couldn't stop giggling. Sam was chuckling at your actions and Dean still didn't understand but at this point, he really didn't care, he was too mesmerized by your laugh. He swore he could listen to it all day.

His thoughts were interrupted by your voice, "So Sam, what are you gonna make Dean do?"

Dean scowled at little at that but then began to worry, Sam could be a pain in the ass when he wanted to be. It all depended on how he was feeling and Dean was hoping he was in a good mood.

"We'll Y/N if I ever got a chance like this before today I would've told him to take you on a date but looks like you too worked that out," he smiled as he glanced at yours and Deans intertwined hands. "So since he's got his girl how about, hmm, let's see no driving baby for a week?"

Deans face paled.

"Or go running with Y/N and I every morning for a week."

"Son of a bitch," Dean muttered under his breath, then mumbled something else.

"What was that Dean?" Sam said with a smug smirk leaning forward.

"I'll take the running." You and Sam laughed at Dean's grumbling.

Ahh, you loved your boys.

------------

It was 5:30 am as you stretched out your legs, waiting for Sam to drag Dean out of the bunker. You were dressed in leggings and a tank top with a small unicorn and the phrase 'I don't sweat I sparkle'. You heard the bunker door open and the brothers came out. Sam in his usual workout attire and Dean stumbled out in shorts and a t-shirt.

"Dean, I thought you didn't do shorts?"

"Y/N, I told you not to read the books!"

"I couldn't help it! God is a great writer!"

"Alright, let's just get this over with so I can go gorge myself at a Crispy Cremes."

"You not gonna stretch?"

Dean didn't respond to your comment and just took off running down the road. You smiled at Sam and took off after him.

After 20 minutes of a light jog, you decided Dean was in need of some more teasing.

"Dean, I think all that pie you've been having lately is having an effect." It was true, he looked a little winded.

He gave you the legendary bitch face and put on speed so he was in front. You laughed at that and said loudly, "Man am I really loving the view from back here!" You heard Sam break out in a coughing fit behind you but kept running.

It went on like that for a couple more minutes. You would make a teasing remark and Dean would pick up his pace so he couldn't hear you. After a little while, you both were full out sprinting, side by side the last little bit to the bunker.

You both touched the railing around the bunker door at the same time and leaned against it trying to catch your breath.

"Had more in you than I thought Dean."

"Well, running for your life tends to keep me fit." He joked.

"Gosh, I am so sweaty. I'm gonna go have a shower." You turned to walk into the bunker but Dean caught your wrist, spinning you around and wrapping his arms around you.

"But I like your sparkle!" He said in a pouty voice.

You couldn't help but smile at that, wrapping your arms around him, "Hmm, I absolutely don't like yours." You pecked him on the lips and grinned. He gave you an offended look.

"So are you going to keep running after this week is up?"

"Ohh, baby I'de run forever if I get to keep you as the prize."

"You grinned at that and pecked his lips once more before you heard something behind him. You and Dean turned to see a red-faced and out of breath Sammy, arms on his head trying to catch his breath.

You and Dean look each other in the eye then turn back to the younger Winchester and say at the same time, "What took you so long Sammy?"
