Chapter 14: Crush

Chaeyoung's POV

It's been a month since the incident. Things have died down a little, although Jennie unnie still interrogates me, nothing much happened. I'm glad no one knew about my hospitalization other than the staff, 2NE1 sunbaenims, and the girls. I can't ever forget the earful that I heard from Bom unnie.

We've been to a few variety shows, too. It was really fun to be in weekly idol again. At least through that, I can forget my problems, even for a little while.

We didn't expect to be this big. In a few years maybe, but right now, I'm over the moon. Because even though people spread rumors about us, a lot of people still supported us.

We stressed about some of the rumors, like when people said that Jennie unnie used to be a bully. We expected this, Jennie unnie did too, but at least it's all behind us now.

I can't believe IU sunbaenim wants to work with me!

We gained a lot of friends too. Like Red Velvet and Twice. They are all so sweet and kind.

"Chaeyoung-ah! Dinner's ready!"

I stood up immediately when I heard Jisoo unnie's voice. I'm so hungry.

"What's for dinner unnie?" I asked the moment I stepped foot in the kitchen.

"Kimchi stew by yours truly," Jennie unnie proudly said, "I cooked everyone's favorite foods so eat up okay?"

My eyes are probably shining right now. There is a lot of food. Chicken, Kimchi Stew, even Lisa's favorite Thai dish is here. I wonder what's up.

"Wah! Unnie, you cooked all of this?" Lisa asked, bewildered.

Jennie unnie smiled and nodded, "Of course with the help of Jisoo unnie."

"Why didn't you call us then?" I asked, pouting.

"I wanted to surprise you, okay?"

"Well, it worked unnie," I grinned at her.

We proceeded to set up the table in the living room so we could watch while eating.

Once we were all seated, I opened the television. I skipped a few channels, and we ended up watching music videos on MTV.

We talked about a few of them, especially since Jisoo unnie is MC-ing. Just then, BTS' new song DNA began playing.

"Shush, unnie wait."

Jisoo unnie scowled at Lisa when she interrupted her, "Here we go again."

My attention was now also on the music video. I never got the chance to watch it because of all the things that happened but I did listen to it already. 

"Wah, they really are amazing," Jennie unnie whispered.

I put down my chopsticks, and just watched. At that moment, Jung Kook's face appeared, and I felt my cheeks heat up.

Why am I blushing?

The memory of when we met at Han River crossed my mind. His hoody is still in my closet, I washed it and tidied it up already. But somehow, I could still smell the faint scent of his perfume. The second time we met each other passed through my mind as well. He was a nice person. We've seen each other by chance twice now, and yet we keep forgetting to get each other's socials and stuff. Weeks and months keep on going by and for some reason, despite the coincidences, we've never had any overlapping schedules.
