Chapter 19: One Night

Flashing lights and loud EDM music that could break one's eardrums are a few of the things that Jennie hates. She prefers a soft and chill bar to take out all of the week's stress, but seeing as she can't refuse the daughters of her mom's 'friends', she just had to deal with it.

"Oh my God! Did you see that girl? Her make-up was so hideous!" One of her friends slurred.

"I know right?! Probably just a cheap bitch looking for a quick fuck for cash," The other commented.

Why am I here, again? Jennie thought, Oh yeah, I needed to drown my sorrows with alcohol.

Jennie sat there, quietly sipping on the cocktail that she ordered. But when she couldn't take the other girl's conversations anymore, she decided to stand up and leave.

"Where are you going?" One of them asked.

"Far away from your judgmental minds," Jennie sneered.

She was a few meters away when she heard one of them talk.

"She probably thinks she's some bigshot now that she's famous."

Jennie clenched her fists, ready to attack but decided against it. They're not worth your time Jennie, she chanted in her head.

She grabbed her coat and began to walk outside, going to the nearest chill out bar.

The place she ended up in isn't fancy, it was simple, quiet, just the way she liked it.

She took a seat on one of the bar stools.

"What would you like, miss?" The bartender asked, standing in front of her.

She smiled, feeling bold, "Surprise me."

After a quick bow and slight smirk the bartender went away to make her drink.

"Jennie Kim?"

Jennie turned to the direction of the voice. She's shocked to see a rookie actor sitting beside her.

"Uhm, yes? How can I help you?" She asked hesitantly.

"I just can't help but admire how beautiful you are in person, I'm a really big fan of yours," He complimented, eyes raking over her form.

Jennie tugged at her dress, she feels vulnerable right now, especially since she's had a few drinks from the club already.

"Thank you," She replied curtly, eyes darting around. Looking for her nearest escape route in case something goes wrong. And there's barely any people here. She thought.

Just then, a bright pink drink was placed in front of her.

"Your drink, miss."

She smiled thankfully at the bartender before he left.

"Cocktails, huh?" The actor leaned closer, "How about I buy you other drinks instead?"

By now, Jennie feels extremely uncomfortable. There's something seriously wrong with this guy.

"No, thank you, I'm fine."
