2: Some good family time

As I was heading downstairs, I heard laughter. I found my brother and mom laughing over some silly thing. Seeing this, a smile  crept on the corner of my lips. My brother is older than me and he's in University now. And my dad, lets not talk about that person. He devorced my mom because he was scared. Scared that all those hardships this family had to go through would bring his career down. So now here we are- me, my brother and my mom continuing with our lives as if nothing happened while my dad's hiding out in God Knows Where. We have never tried to reach him and no one knows where he is and what he is doing now. It's almost  2 years since he's been gone, but he's gone only from our house, not from our hearts. Cause it's impossible and today I was missing him more than ever.

I shook my head out of these thoughts. I joined the merry company at the breakfast table. 

"Goodmorning" I said with a smile on my face, not letting them see through my barrier of what's really going on inside that tiny head of mine.

"Yaooo sistah, you look cheerful" He said with a smirk on his face.

My brother, Jonah  is really handsome. He's called the ladies' man and got this player side that mom doesn't know about. Every girl in his school were desperate to be with him but he simply blew them off. He was funny, good looking, and cocky on a whole another level. But as a brother, he was the best. He would joke around with me, but at the same time take care of me. He was protective, carefull, responsible and a really good big brother to me. He would interrogate any guy I go out with and would beat the shit out of a guy who hurt me. 

"Yah! Im happy you feel good hon. Today's you're 1st day of junior year here and you already know what you have to do. You can't let anyone know about the-" Before she could finish that sentence I cut her off.

"I know mom, I know. You just told me the do-s and don't-s last night. I know what I have to do and I will be carefull this time, ok?" I sighed. She just nodded her head and gave an understanding smile.

My mom's like this. Taking all the responsibilities in her shoulder and taking care of the whole house. She works as a teacher in the same University that my brother is in and comes home in the evening. She's really carefull on silly things and doesn't like loose life. She always wants to keep herself busy and is a bit uptight. But she understands us. She always tries to be there for me and she's the person I can run to when I have any sorts of problem. Probably because I know that she will help me, not by scaring the causer of the problem to death unlike my bro.

My brother tried to change the subject as he could sense the atmosphere heating up. " Soo, should I drop you off to school? You've got like 5 minutes to reach there, you better hurry!"

With that I stuffed a pancake in my mouth and ran upstairs to get ready. Just so you know I eat like a pig and there's no denying it. Luckily nobody can tell cause I'm a bit athletic and used to go to gym.

I put on a white plain crop top with a rose printed on it in black and a ripped jeans that I just bought yesterday. On top of it I threw a denim jacket and put on my white vans. Then grabbed my bag and ran downstairs. Though it was the 1st day, I decided to go with a bare face. I just put on a chery lipgloss. I ran out the door with a loud "Goodbye mom, see you tonight" but not before stuffing another pancake in my mouth (see what I was talking about?  Me being a pig)

I found my brother waiting for me in his car outside and jumped in the passenger side. Just then he drove off like a wild horse. My brother and I use the same car but mostly I get to use it as he usually walks home with his buddies.

With the smirky expression in his face I knew he was about to throw a cocky joke towards me. So I turned on the radio and turned the volume up as we roared through our neighborhood. He gave me a questioning look but deep down knew very well what I was doing.

Just then in no time we arrived at the front of my school- Curtis Highschool. I opened my door and got out of my car when I found that Jojo ( that's the nickname I gave my brother) was holding my hand.  I turned around to see a concerned expression on his face.

"Look sissy, last time I was able to take care of your stupidity. This time you must know that I can't be there for you. I will be busy most of the time and so will be mom. U gotta learn to take care of yourself. No more drama this year, k?"

I replied with a nod " Got it mom!" And I turned around and felt that he was still holding my hand. " Now what?" I asked with an iritated expression.

"Leaving without a goodbye kiss?" He made a innocent crybaby face.

"Yess dumdhead, no more drama you said?" 

"Ooooh u got me sissy, always the mouth that with fire eeh? But still my friends wanna get in your panties" He winked.

I literally cringed at that and internally gagged " Ewww. Its prolly because you got the mouth that smells like garbage" I jerked my hand our of  his grip.

"Its called cologne you idiot" He shouted as he drove out of my school territory.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night Jojo" I shouted after him and I was satisfied at my get back.But just then I noticed most of the girl's eyes around were on the departing car as it slowly got out of their sight. While some other girls were eyeing me from head to toe with that judgemental look on their faces. Some shouted " Noooo come back" with a sad face while others just commented on , how hot he was and asked questions like "Who was this  mysterious new hottie that doesn't go to our school" "Did he just move here cause I've never seen him before" "Who was that bitch he dropped off? His girlfriend?".

Like they didn't even care that I was still standing there and listening to everything.So much for zero attention. LOL he was in here for like what? A solid 2 minutes and those teen girls already got their hormones out of control. Studpid girls.

Some even came up to me to ask about Jonah. About whats his name, location, who was he, his fav color, fav food, hobby,  how did I know him and how long have we been dating. GOOD GOD. Some were completely heartbroken to know that he was older than them and in Uni. And some even tried to be my friend just so they could get to him. Jeeezzzzz

My brother Everyone!!!!! So now you know how lucky I am........ So here goes the 1st day, All lovey-dovey.

So guys, Im really sorry for this late update. I was hella busy. But just know I don't forget u guys. 

This chapter is all about Katherine's family and a little introduction to her life. The real drama is gonna start from the next chapter. So keep readin'
