chapter 9.

"boss?is that you?"asked Andrew when he saw Debby staring at him
"am guessing your wife is with you?"asked Betty
"yes"
"can she hear me?"
"no"
"well,just wanted to let you know that i haven't been able to get you out of my mind.the thought of you touching me just makes my body tingle all over"she said in a hushed whisper
"alright boss,see you tomorrow"said Andrew as he hang up and switched off his phone
"what kind of boss calls employees at this time of the night?"asked Debby
"apparently my boss does"he answered flatly
"what was the call about?"she inquired
"i dont know Debby,i'll go and find out first thing in the morning"he said as he turned his back on her and covered his head with the pillow.
And true to his word,Andrew went to Betty's office first thing in the morning.
"Hey handsome..."she greeted him with a smile but he didnt smile back"did i get you in trouble?"she asked
"almost..."he replied
"well almost doesnt count"she said as she got up and went close to him
"Betty you cant be calling me at awkward times..."he said to her
"am sorry...i just couldnt help it...."she put her arms round his neck"dont tell me i never crossed your mind last night"she said as she looked in his eyes
"i didnt say that"he told her and looked away.
"then whats the problem?"she asked
"Betty am a married man,i dont wanna ruin that"he reminded her.
Betty understood what he was saying,he wasnt ready to give up his marriage yet and she respected that.she was patient enough to lure him away from his wife slowly,so she looked directly at him and said
"who says your wife should know?it will be our own little secret"she said with a mischievious smile.
"pick me up after work"said Andrew as he left her office.,
And so begun the affair.he would go home late and sometimes during lunch they sneaked ff to have sex in nearby lodges.Andrew had disconnected from Debby and she knew it,she was too emotionally drained so she never confronted him.she just watched in agonising silence as her husband became a stranger.to keep herself busy Debby usually visited her father at his workplace.she never told anyone what was going on,not even Linda.
One day as she was waiting for a bus at the station it started raining and she got soaked,thankfully her father saw her and picked her up.
"i dont like this dear....why should my only child suffer as if am not here?"her dad was infuriated
"daddy am not suffering..."she said as she shivered
"look at you...you look terrible.....am getting you a new car"he said
"what?..daddy no,Andrew will be upset"she refused
"so what?i dont care what that incompetent fool thinks.you are my daughter and it is my duty to take good care of you"he said with authority.
And so he got her a new BMW and like she had anticipated Andrew was not happy about it,they had a huge fight he ended up storming out and spending a night out.
Debby jst assummed he was at his mother's house not knowing that he was with Debby.
What Andrew didnt know was that he was not the only man in Betty's life,though he was the main man Betty still hooked up with her ex once in a while.and Betty's ex was a real player.
One day Andrew woke up feeling weak and his stomach was in terrible pain.he couldnt go to work so Debby took him to the hospital.
"whats wrong with him?"she asked the doctor
"he has an STI which has infected his kidneys because we caught it in its late stage"said the doctor
"an STI?"Debby looked at Andrew who was asleep on the bed as a tear fell down her cheek
"yes...he needs a kidney but we dont have one which matches with his blood type in our bank right now"said the doctor
Debby felt her face become wet as tears fell down like a waterfall,she looked at Andrew and said to the doctor
"we have the same blood type....you can give him my kidney".
