Prologue

I look around the room and notice that the town hall has people I have never seen before. I look over to my sister, Laney, and ask, "Who are those people with Mayor Rowe?" She turns to me and shrugs her shoulders. "I am just as confused as you are. They have never called a meeting in the middle of the week before. It must be something very important." I take in my sister's looks. Laney has always been taller than me and had an Amazon woman body type. She is also the most sought after when it comes to men in our community. She has bright orange hair that looks as if it is on fire when she flips it. Her green eyes are bright against her tan complexion. We have always been confused on where she got her looks from, because no one in the family is tall with orange hair. I look like my father, unfortunately. I have his pale skin that just talking about sunlight gives me a sunburn. I have long blonde hair that is white in most light. I have brown eyes that hide my pupils in the darkness that wraps around them. 

I am broken out of my stare when I hear a harsh whisper and a hit to my shoulder, "Aria! Pay attention!" I look at my sister who is giving me a 'pay attention' look. I roll my eyes and tune into what Mayor Rowe was saying. "...It has been a long time since we have allowed this, but welcome the Dolan family to our community." I heard frantic whispers start and be cut off by Mayor Rowe, "Quite!" Everyone fell silent and looked at the stage as he moved out of the way to show the family behind him. I look at the family in close detail. There were five strangers, one man and wife with their three children. The children consisted of a girl and two boys who could be twins. Mayor Rowe nodded at the man and he walked up to the microphone. "Hello! I am Sean and this is my lovely family." He pointed at his wife and said, "This is Lisa...," he continued down the line to the children, "... Cameron, Ethan, and Grayson." I follow him as he points out each child. He ended on Grayson and I looked at him confused. He has an earring in his right ear and a smile that was held by his two dimples. He was beautiful. As if he felt my eyes, he turned his head and looked directly at me and his face dropped to confusion. I could feel my face turn a bright red as I looked down at my hands. What was I thinking? No man like him would ever be interested in a boring girl like me. 

...or so I thought...

A/N: I am sooooo excited! I actually thought of this story line through a dream of mine. How Twilight of me lol! I love you all!
