"Aubrey Frost." the sound of my name echoing in the new class room took my focus away from my drawing long enough to reply. I felt numerous sets of eyes on me and heard the snickering of my new class mates. I wandered what they were laughing about. I'm not used to a school environment as I have been home schooled all my life. The boy next to me caught my confused expression and answered my unasked question, "They're laughing at you, you know." He chuckled.

"Why? why are they laughing at me?" I questioned, throwing anther confused look in his direction.

"Jealousy." He answered, as though it were that simple.

"Why are they jealous? what have i done?" I said, with a strait face. He looked at me in surprise obviously not realizing that I didn't see it as simple as he did.

"It's your first day here and before you even step on to the school grounds you have somebodies attention that girls have been fighting over ever since he came here." He said in a hushed voice. "You also smell funny."

"What?" I thought I heard that last bit wrong, after all he did say it in the quietest voice ever.

"Nothing. My names Jay." Jay said. I faced him and looked at his face rather than his hand. He had brown hair that was covering his eyes a bit but it was swept to the side. He was quite lanky and had a northern accent. I had the same accent but mine was fainter were as his was strong. He had a chiselled jaw line and soft baby blue eyes.

"Aubrey Frost." I said sticking my hand out to shake. He just stared at it and laughed.

"I already know." Jay said chuckling. I then realized that the teacher had said it and I had answered. Of course he knew my name. I was about to withdraw my hand when he took it in his slightly larger ones.

"Nice to meet you Frost-" He was cut off by the bell ringing,"But i think that it's time for next lesson, What do you have?" Jay asked, slipping his hand out of mine and standing up. When I collected my stuff and stood up I realized that I was as tall as him, If not taller. He looked at me with a shocked expression as did most of the class when they saw my height. I just hunched my back as I usually do and looked down."How are you so tall?" Jay asked, I hated that question. Always have and always will.

"Math." I simply stated, with no emotion present in my face or eyes.

"what? Oh. Same, I have maths next." Jay said uneasy as I stared down at him. I simply turned around and stalked out of the now empty room leaving and uneasy and confused Jay behind.

Nobody talked to me after that. The academic day was coming to an end and my final lesson was PE. I cant remember much about PE when I was home schooled. But by the groans coming from other students as we entered the changing room, I could tell that it probably wasn't fun. The girls around me started to get dressed in to another outfit that I was not familiar with, I consisted of a super tight top and shorts that were only a little longer than their skirts which already looked like belts. I turned to the girl next to me, "Is there an alternative option?" I asked in a monotone voice. She had to look up at me to answer, and when she did she gulped, but then regained her posture."You mean the PE uniform?" I nodded,"Um I think so." The girl said as she turned back to a small locker and dug through the clothes until she pulled out a long sleeved top and sweat pants. "These were mine but they are way to big for me and I haven't worn them, so you can u-um borrow t-them, If you want." She said in a rushed voice stuttering a few times. I looked down at her confused as she placed the clothes down on the bench and scurried off. I slowly took the clothes and shrugged putting them on and following the other girls towards what must be the gym.

It was a cold hall with slippery floors which made my trainers squeak as I walked over to where the coach was calling us over. We were on the left side of the hall where what looks like the equipment was, it had climbing frames along the walls and mats in the corner. The coach was standing with a basket ball underneath a hoop, I could pretty much guess what we were going to play. To my surprise a group of boys walked in the door and joined us with the coach waiting for him to set rules and instructions. A few other girls also looked shocked but that changed to realization and then to annoyance. "Now as today is the second Monday of the month you know what today is." The coach looked around the class expecting a reaction, instead he was greeted with annoyed looks and my confused face, he looked at my with slight pity before continuing,"It's mingle Monday meaning that the boys class and the girls class play a match against each other.Today the game we will play is basketball." He looked around the extended class once more before seeing that nobody was moving and yelled. "POSITIONS!" A few people flinched at his loud tone but I wasn't surprised. We all moved to get ready, the boys on one side the girls on the other. As I was the tallest I was put in the middle to start and the same with a boy. I noticed, however, that he wasn't the tallest nor the strongest, he was only up to my ear. Were the boys going easy on us?!?! If so then I hope thy're prepared to lose.

To say that game was easy would be an understatement. I got five baskets and blocked allot of the boys throws. I tried to include my team but they just chucked the ball back at me and went back to gossiping. The only time boys got a basket was when I was distracted. I felt their eyes again and I'm pretty sure it was him, the person who was watching me when I walked into school, the person that all the girls wanted for some reason. Loosing the ball didn't bother me in that moment, what did however, was that even though I was sweating and breathing hard, he still made my blood run cold.

After school I went back to my dorm. I stay on the school ground because my mum and dad kicked me out. It was only a ten minute walk from my last class. I decided to skip dinner and the awkward talk with the rest people staying here. I didn't have a room mate which was completely fine with me. If any thing it was better than having company, no one to take up your space or someone you're forced to make small talk with.

The room I was staying in had white walls with a beige carpet that had been worn over the years. I had a single bed in the right hand corner that my feet hung off. I went to the closet on the other side of the room and picked out my pajamas. They consisted of a plain white top and black shorts. All my clothes were like that, dull. It helps me blend in more. I jumped on to my bed and stared out of the window above my bed. It was starting to get dark. The light wasn't good enough to sketch so I flipped the lamp off and pulled the covers over me. I started to drift off to sleep but before the darkness pulled me under I saw a movement in the far corner of the room, but I wasn't sure because as quickly as It came, it was gone. And the darkness had me.
