"Dad turn the song up." my little sister Emmie says. "You have horrible taste in music Emmie," Chase says. "Shut up Chase!" Emmie yells. "Emmie don't say that" scolds our mother.
"Maybe you have the horrible taste," I say laughing "BURN" Emmie says. This is a normal Barrington family conversation. It's not even close to an argument. Our sibling fights are much worse than this. Full on tackles to the floor. We're on our way back from our weekly Friday dinner.
"Dad, can I borrow the car tomorrow?" asks chase. "Good luck with that" I say. "What for?" says dad. "I wanted to hang out with my friends and drive around with them" he says in an unsure tone. "Absolutely not, you have to have a reason to use a car" he says.
"What!!! I do have a reason" he says desperately. "No you don't you can do so many other things to hang out with your friends" mom inturpts. I have to admit she has a point.
We enter our driveway. "You know the rules, you only..." Dad starts to say. "Get the car for emergency purposes, yeah I know, I know" Chase finishes.
I'm exhausted from all this talking that once the door opens I rushed upstairs and into my room. I yelled goodnight so no one comes in my room. I change into black shorts and
a white tank top and head to the bathroom but all of a sudden Chase runs into the bathroom and shuts the door. He such an asshole."What the hell" I yell. "Language young lady" mom yells from her bedroom. "Sorry" I yell back. After what feels like years my disgusting ugly ass brother walks out. "Sorry" he say as he pouts. "Fuck you" I say. " Fuck you too" he says laughing. I walk into the bathroom and brush my teeth.
When I walk out my phone starts ringing. I pick it up to see who it is and it Lexi aka my best friend. "Hey stranger!" she says. "Hey, what's going on? You seem happier than usual" I ask. "Can I only be happy when something comes up." She says. " not just because your happy but because it's almost midnight and you don't call me late at night" I say.
"Guess what?!?!" She says screaming through the phone. "Chill, what?" I said. "You suck at guessing but I'm going to Florida this summer!!!!" She says with so much excitement. "No way that's amazing!" I say laughing. "I know" we have 1 more week left of sophomore year.
"Aurora go to bed" my mom says as she comes up the stairs. "You heard the orders got to go bye" I weave to my phone even though she can't see. "Ok bye call me tomorrow!" She says with the excitement still present in her voice.
I hang up and head to my bed. I climb into my bed and just look at the ceiling until I fall asleep.
