"Here, we have the private jet of the Royal family!" A lady yelled out from the news channel. "Their youngest Prince will be attending the Hollow Ridge High School!" She yelled out once more, trying to be louder than the jet engines.
I guess the only reason I was so mesmerized by the news channel was that it mentioned our school a few times here and there. Other than that, it didn't pique my interest. I leaned back on the couch and brought my legs up, crossing them in front of me to see if I could get any relaxation before walking into hell itself.
"Honey, you're gonna be late for your first day back!" My mom yelled at and I jumped off the couch, a bit startled out of my own head.
"One second!" I yelled back towards my mom and let my legs fall back to the ground as I leaned forward to start getting up. I knew I would have to take on the rest of the day even if I ultimately didn't want to even get out of bed this morning.
"Right now, we have Prince-"
And that's when I cut off the woman on the news and turned off the TV, sick of her voice already. I wanted to get this over with and get what I needed from my room. I didn't care much about the Royal family, but it was nice to know what was going on around the area every once in a while. Even though, not much happened in our city. Surprising, huh? Not very active for being in a rich, entitled community.
I jogged over to the curved, marble steps that led to the second floor of our house and I ran up them with only a few stomps under my feet. I walked over and opened the second set of grand doors to the right of the staircase. Inside was my room and I just stood there for a few seconds. I kept forgetting about how rich my family really was and I knew it would take me a while to get the hang of. The part of my room with my bed was huge and even had a walk-in closet that would take me a while to describe on its own. I ran over to the huge window in my room and glanced into the master bathroom that connected to my room as I picked up my backpack and a hoodie just in case. I sighed as I stood up, rolled my shoulders, and gave the bathroom one last look before spinning on my heel and walking back toward the grand doorway. Any time I was in my room I would always admire the bathroom because the whole thing just seemed to glimmer in any lighting. I made sure to look back through the window to see if our chauffeur was here yet. Yup!
I decided to give myself a small smile and I quickly closed the doors and tiptoed back down the staircase, not wanting to wake anyone else in the house up. I broke into a small run toward the front door and made sure to give my mom a small peck on the cheek as she flashed me a smile.
"Missing something honey?" My mom asked and I slid as I tried to stop myself. I'm still in my socks? Agh! Shoes!
I looked up to my mom again and we laughed in unison toward each other.
"Damn, I'm really mixed up today, I guess!" I quickly mumbled and slid over to my mom, grabbing my work boots. Basically, these heavy-duty black boots that I absolutely love. I made sure they were well-built and steel-toed before I bought them. It doesn't hurt to always be carrying a bit of extra safety around.
"Hey, language!" My mother warned as I went back to the door. I giggled to myself and turned the doorknob. We both knew I was always going to swear whenever I had the chance to. I slipped on the boots and tied the laces in double knots. I'm not a huge fan of all that extra bow stuff.
"Love you!" I hollered as I closed the door to our mansion. I heard a faint return of the words and I gave myself a small sigh before walking to the fancy, new car in our driveway.
