Is every criminal really one?

Or the circumstances make them one?

A jailor thought as he moved towards the jail.

He unlocked it and went inside,

"It is the day of your release. You are going home today."

He said happily.

She turned around with a glass of water, smiled and gave it to him. Then said,

"Come, sit."

They sat and he said unable to hold back his questions.

"A girl who is so well mannered. So well behaved, can't murder someone. But you did. Today, I want to know, why?"

Since she had come, she became everyone's favourite.

She behaved very well with the police officials, other criminals and that is the reason that today, she was being released earlier than the decided period.

No one could believe that she could murder someone.

Hearing the question, she smiled and said,

"Sometimes, even we don't know what and why we do it."

After controlling her tears, she continued,

"That black night snatched everything from me. You want to know what happened that night. Listen to it then "

*Girl's Pov*

"Mom, is he home yet?"

I asked my Mom.

It was very late, but dad wasn't back yet.

"Riots are going on. I told him not to go out."

I fumed with anger and said.

"Don't worry. It isn't that late, he must be fine."

Mom said.

How could she stay so calm!

"But, Mom! Why? Why the hell did he go out? I hate his so-called father. He thinks my dad is his slave not a son. Couldn't his medicines wait for a day more? In this heated up environment he sent my dad to freaking buy his medicines? Will he die without them?"

My hatred for my so-called Grandfather was clearly visible in my words.

Otherwise which father would send his son out in the riots?

"

Now shut up! Calm down. Don't be tensed. I am going to Sunita's home. She isn't well and her husband isn't in the city."

Mom said and I nodded.

To divert my mind, I started watching TV.

I completely forgot, dad hadn't come back.

I heard my phone vibrate after some time, and busy in watching TV, I picked it up without seeing the caller.

"Hello...hello! Miss Sakshi?"

I heard the person on the other side.

"Yeah, speaking"

I said.

"Is Rajeev Singhvi your Father?"

The person said.

I was a bit scared now.

I stood up and saw the caller..it..it was..DAD.

Why was someone else talking from his phone?

"Umm...I am Mr. Sunil, a police officer. We had released a high alert to not leave your home. Why did you send him out then?"

How to tell him why my dad went.

"Sir.. why have you called?"

I asked after gaining some strength.

"I am sorry but..he..he is no more! He was attacked in the riots and lost his life! Please reach city hospital as soon as possible for identification."

What..what did he say?

My..dad is no more.

Like..dead!

I didn't say a word after that.

All our moments kept playing in my head

How will I tell Mom?

I clenched my fist and moved towards My grandfather's room.
