Ray was laughing now, he looked like he was about ready to drop to the ground and roll around just from how hard he was laughing. Meanwhile, I was shooting him the most lethal glare in the world; if looks could kill, Ray would have died a thousand times over just in the past five seconds.

When Ray calmed down a little, he giggled, “he he, you guys, ha ha, almost, pff, had me goin’, he, for a moment there, ha ha.”

“Ray, we are being serious,” I scolded.

Ray’s smile dropped when he noticed how serious Kai and I had gotten. “You guys know that that is completely insane, right?” he said.

“Completely and utterly crazy,” I nodded. “But I don’t care how foolish it may seem, I will find Paradise or I will die trying.

“And how the hell do you plan on doing that, huh? Even if you set out now, where will you go?” Ray said.

“I have that under control. We have to find one of the people who is living in this town, he will know where to find it.”

“Who is it?” Ray asked.

Kai looked at Ray, knowing what I was talking about, “His name is Dylan Thatch.”

“Thatch? As in Captain Thatch’s son?” Ray asked, astonished to hear the name.

“Yes, he is Edward Thatch’s only family left. Thatch knew where to find Paradise; in fact, he was on his way home to pick up his wife and son to bring them to Paradise when he was found by bounty hunters. It was no surprise, not even to Thatch himself, he was the most wanted pirate in all of history after all. Thatch was just glad that he hadn’t had his son and wife onboard whenever his ship sank with him on it. But they say that Thatch had made a way for his son to find Paradise before Thatch had died since he was afraid that something like this would happen, that he wouldn’t be able to take his son to Paradise himself. The kid probably doesn’t know it, but he has the only thing that can help us reach Paradise,” I explained.

“So if we find the kid, we can find Paradise,” finished Kai.

Ray looked between the two of us from behind the bar counter, “Well that sounds like a mighty fine plan and all, but there is only one problem: How are you supposed to find one kid in a city like Orabel?”

I chuckled, “Ray, that may just be the easiest part of our journey.” Ray looked at me with an odd look, not understanding. I sighed but didn’t go on to explain myself, instead I stood up, chugged another pint of beer, and headed out of the tavern, saying my goodbye to Ray and my other friends.

“You already know where the boy is, don’t you Captain?” asked Kai as he followed me through the streets of Orabel.

I grinned, “Yes, Captain Thatch himself told me where to find his son, after all.”
