"See you later Mikey. I love you." I smiled as I kissed his forehead softly.

"I love you too Aid." He chuckled, hugging me tightly.

I smiled and placed a soft kiss on his lips. My arms slithered around his neck as I pulled him closer to my shivering body. Nuzzling my head into his neck, I took in his scent, since I wouldn't be seeing him for a while. I smiled again as I pulled back and just stared at him. We were under one of the light posts so I could see every single feature he had.

His light blue eyes sparkled as the light hit his face ever so slightly, complimenting his bleached blond hair that shone and stretched in every direction. Although he wore braces, his smile was one of the cutest I had ever seen.

"Alright Mikey, I gotta go." I laughed, unlatching my arms from his neck.

He sighed but released his grip on my waist. "Alright. See you later." He said, giving me one last peck on the cheek.

He removed his hand from his pocket and waved as I walked down the empty street. I waved one last time before spinning around and turning the corner.

I zipped up my jacket and stuffed my hands into the side pockets. I let out a breath and watched as the white clouds of smoke escaped my mouth and disappeared into the night. This has got to be one of the coldest winters ever.

Walking down the street, I watched as each light coming from the stores went off. It was getting late and people were getting ready to go home to be with their families seeing as it was Christmas eve. I watched as one man in particular locked his store and made his way to his car. His face was lit up with excitement - I guess he had big plans for him and his family tomorrow.

The fact that he got to spend Christmas with the ones he loved gave me a warm feeling inside.

Me on the other hand, I had to work the entire day tomorrow. I would give anything in the world to spend Christmas with Mikey. I guess that's what happens when you get promoted.

The thought of being alone on Christmas though was foreign to me and it felt like I was missing out on a huge part of my life.

I ran a hand through my hair as I stopped at an intersection, looking both ways before I hopped off the sidewalk and crossed the street. I began humming one of my favorite songs as the white clouds puffed out of my nose.

You're like a Laserlight, burning down, burning down on me

You're like a Laserlight, burning down, burning down on me

You make me feel good, you make me feel safe

You make me feel like I can live another day

You make me feel good, you make me feel safe

You know I wouldn't have it any other way.

Every time I sang that song, it made me think of Mike. I felt safe when we were together. He meant everything to me, and I wouldn't, nor would I want to, have it any other way.

The slight smirk I was wearing faltered from my lips as the sound of a revving engine snapped me out of my thoughts.

I glanced over my shoulder to see a dark blue Mazda 3 car cruising just a few feet behind me. Determined to get home, I shrugged it off and continued my walk down the dimly lit street.

I began humming again but the engine revved once more and I stopped dead in my tracks. I spun on my heel and focused on the car. The lights were bright so I couldn't see past the number plate. I scrunched my eyebrows as I focused on the numbers and letters on it.
