30. I always told you boys are dumb

Lou's POV

I sat in the hospital next to my dad as we both tried to not fall asleep. The riots were intense, the Ghoulies were a lot and I gotta say my face is pretty bruised up. Sweet pea got in an actual bad fight and we haven't really talked in the past 24 hours. I don't know but we might have broken up.

"Dad? Lou?", Jughead cracked out as he opened his eyes, finally. "Jug", I smiled. "What did I miss?", the boy asked. 

"What you did brought every Serpent out of the woodwork. You would have been proud. It looked like we were gonna win but in the end, there were just- Just too many Ghoulies. It was like shooting snakes in a barrel", I explained to my brother. 

"Why? Why did you go?"

"To avenge you", I told him. "I had an agreement with Hiram", Jughead insisted. 

"there was no stopping the others. They churned up about you and Fangs even though Fangs, he's alive", dad explained. 

"Fangs is alive?", Jughead asked surprised, "But I thought a deputy told you he was dead?".

"Yeah, that was a lie", "A play, you mean. To goad the Serpents into a fight they couldn't win. All of Riot Night was a Hiram Lodge mousetrap and the Serpents followed me right into it", Jughead sighed looking down. 

"Sunnyside Trailer Park fell, our trailer's still standing. Most of them burned. Jug, after the rumble some of the Serpents defected, they joined the Ghoulies. Others were arrested, more went into hiding. The rest, they left town. The Serpents, they don't exist anymore", dad lied to Jug even though a lot of Serpents fell the mains stayed at the Wyrm. 

"We had our time, nothing for you to do but to get better and to be there for Betty", dad continued. 

Did I mention that Betty's father turned out to be The Black Hood? Isn't that sick?

Two days later Jughead returned to school and called a Serpent meeting in to which four people attended. Jughead, Toni, Sweet Pea and I since there weren't any left at school today. 

"This is how it ends? Not with a whimper, but a memo from Weatherbee?", Jughead asked angrily. 

"Riverdale High is suddenly overcrowded. Starting next week, former Southside High students will be bussed to Seaside High", I read out. 

"Which is two hours away", Toni finished. 

"Meaning he blames us for trashing the school during Riot Night", Sweet Pea argued, that was the moment our relationship somehow went downhill. 

"Well, to be fair, Sweet Pea. You did", Jughead said standing the truth. 

"What's our play? Do we have one?", Sweet Pea asked. "I don't know, we can't keep fighting for a gang that doesn't exist", Jughead sighed. 

"What about us? Or the Serpents at the Wyrm?", Toni asked making me mentally slap her. 

"What Serpents at the Wyrm?", Jughead asked me confused.

After school, the four of us went to the Whyte Wyrm, which was crowded by Serpents living in the little space of the bar. 

"You saw what the Ghoulies did to most of Sunnyside Trailer Park. A lot of Serpents couldn't afford to leave Riverdale", Toni explained. 

"So we came here", Sweet Pea added. I had enough money to leave from the pick Nick St. Clair's. The night it went clear that the riots are starting I paid the money on my bank account and actually planned on getting an apartment with Sweet Pea but guess this is not happening.
