It had been a few weeks since he's met Joshua and the others, but Jeonghan hasn't really hung out with them. No, he's been hanging out with Seungcheol, which in the long run probably wasn't such a good idea. Every lunch they would meet up by their lockers and then they would sneak off campus and come back to class late every single time. A couple times Seungcheol had skipped school completely and Jeonghan just followed him like an obedient pet.

Jeonghan hadn't realized the consequences to his actions, until he came home one day to a very unhappy mother.

"Jeonghan, we need to talk."

Jeonghan paled as he opened the front door to his home. His mother stood there with her arms crossed, giving him a death glare.

He nodded as he shakily closed the front door then proceeded to try and make his way to the living room.

"Ah ah. Stay right there."

Jeonghan grimaced, she must be really mad. He hesitantly raised his gaze to look at his mother then immediately regretted it, she was staring straight into his soul.

"Care to explain why your school called to inform me about multiple unexcused absences and that you've apparently been late to multiple classes for the past three weeks? That's a lot of school to be missing Jeonghan, what have you been doing? I advise that you tell me the truth."

Jeonghan shifted his weight from side to side, trying to make up a believable lie on the spot.

"I thought I said not to lie to me."

"But I-"

"Don't. Just tell me the truth before there's serious consequences."

Jeonghan let out a defeated sigh, rubbing his upper arm.

"I-I was with a boy, and I didn't want to lose my only friend, so I went with him when he ditched."

His mother's expression softened.

"Honey no, you don't need to do that to keep a friend."

"But I really l-like him, and I want him to like me too."

"Aww, Hannie..."

His mom walked over and gave him a hug. Jeonghan hugged back slightly before she pulled away.

"Just try to make it to class on time ok? But I better not hear about you skipping school ever again."

She patted him on the head before going to the kitchen most likely to make dinner.

He knew he shouldn't have done it, but he didn't want to be alone all day.

Seungcheol decided to skip school again, only showing up to see if Jeonghan wanted to come with him.

"Yeah of course I'll go."

"K, come on kid."

Jeonghan smiled happily as Seungcheol turned around and started walking. Jeonghan figured they were just going to the park again, so he continued to their usual route.

They walked in silence, the only sound heard being cars passing by and the their footsteps against the sidewalk. It was a comfortable silence rather than uncomfortable, and that made Jeonghan happy.

They both saw the familiar park come into view, so they slowed their walk.

Now standing in front of the fountain that occasionally threw water droplets at them, they decided to stop.

"Hey kid? Is that a choker?"

Jeonghan gave a start when he felt a finger slip in between his neck and the thin black material wrapped around it. He looked up and saw Seungcheols eyes peering back at him.
