Jay turned, her eyes wide with fear. She was lost, and had no way home. It was dark, and although no one had seen dragons for centuries, they could still be lurking in the darkness.. Watching.. Waiting.. Listening.. Preying on the lost girl with no one to comfort her.
A snort sounded from behind her, and she whipped around. She let out a scream as she saw a large purple glowing dragon staring down at her. She quickly calmed down when she saw the injury on its wing. "Oh, you poor thing... Here, let me help you.." Jay whispered, pulling her sweater off and wrapping it around the large wing.
Perhaps she was safer than she thought. She really was going to prove all the other kids wrong. She WAS strong enough to be alone.
