another three weeks had gone by and sofia hadn't heard from dele since she told him to delete her number. he'd been posting a lot more photos of him and ruby on instagram lately, almost like showing her off which sofia found unusual as up until their argument, dele had posted pictures of ruby around a total of three times. both sofia and dele unfollowed each other on instagram a week ago after sofia was fed up of seeing ruby plastered all over her timeline. it felt to her like dele was trying to make her jealous, but then she'd realise that she's just overthinking and it's impossible considering he just wanted to be friends. university break started in five days which meant sofia and bella were going to italy in a weeks time. sofia was so excited for bella and paulo to meet, but was mostly excited to see paulo who she hadn't seen for months.
"i feel like i need to start packing already. what's the weather like in turin? is it hot, cold, warm? like what sort of clothes do i pack, oversized jumpers or a cheeky crop top? sofia... sofia are you listening to me?"
sofia laughed, snapping out of her daydream. "sorry. it's warm. why are you packing so early we still have a week until we leave."
"sofia, a week is barely long enough to pack! i never should have left it this late. anyway, i'm meeting your brothers good looking footballer friends, i have to look good. you never know, i could bag myself a cute rich italian man or a portuguese man, ronaldo say." bella stated with a wink.
sofia laughed. "footballers aint shit, paulo's the only good one. and ronaldo? sweetie no i'm doing what i can to keep that over tanned, over worked ken doll away from you, you don't deserve that."
"what's so wrong with ronaldo? he's dreaaaamy!"
"ok.. me if i was blind? mans is so arrogant, thinks he's the best player in the world like messi isn't right there. sad."
"messi's fine too"
"i mean... you're not wrong. maybe one day when i take you to an international game i can introduce you to good, decent, hot players. i'll introduce you to messi but he's off limits in that regard, antonella is too nice. maybe paulo gazzaniga? he's very nice."
"as long as he's hot... i'm down"
sofia sighed. "i really have to get you into football."
"well maybe when i'm dating gazzaniga he can take me to games. what club does he play for?"
sofia went to answer and then stopped. "actually, i'll find you someone else. you don't want to see his team play. messy!"
"he plays with dele, doesn't he?"
"who?"
"you're so annoying" bella mocked, laughing at her friend.
"no but seriously, paulo g is a nice guy. maybe if you guys ever meet i'll do a lil something maybe. call me cupid" the girls laughed together.
sofia never thought before that gazzaniga played with dele. she'd always liked him, he was nice on the eyes and just a nice person in general. they'd always have a good laugh together, she saw him as like a second brother. she couldn't help but laugh at the idea of going to a spurs game to see paulo and crossing paths with dele, his head is so big he'd probably think she was there for him.
"what are you laughing at?" bella asked.
"nothing," sofia smirked. she made a lucky escape ridding herself of dele. although she missed him sometimes, he was never a big part of her life and she could happily live without him. bella on the other hand, sofia had only known her for 6 weeks, but she was the greatest person she'd ever met. they were practically sisters which is why she was so excited for bella and paulo to meet.
international break was in 2 months, and sofia was so excited to be reunited with the argentina national team and get to watch them play again. of course, she'd be bringing bella along. not that she knows much about football, but sofia was determined to teach her and convert her into a huge football fan. argentina and juventus, of course.
