°Emberly°
I was standing right outside the little coffee shop, as ready as I would ever be for my first job interview.
I had gotten a lot done after the little run-in with Mr. Sexy- Man. I got all the grocery shopping done, I even cleaned the entire apartment as fast as I could while Belle and James were out and about doing who knows what. I switched outfits before leaving. I wore plain, light blue, skinny jeans with a black, loose, long sleeved shirt, and my black flats I had on earlier.
I didn't bring any type of purse because I didn't need one. Just my keys around my belt loop, and my wallet and phone in my back pockets. Purses are black holes. You can't ever find anything in them and they are also just a waste of space. I had straightened my long hair, and put on one of the necklaces Saige had gotten me. The only makeup I had on was some light mascara.
My head was still hurting like hell and I was debating on whether to take the stranger's advice about going to the hospital.
Looking into the coffee shop through the floor-ceiling windows at the front, I was glad to see I wasn't over or under-dressed. Some people were sitting and chatting amongst themselves while a select few were sitting alone enjoying thier early afternoon. A slight smile lulled at my lips.
I took a deep breath before opening the door and walked in. I was relieved to see that I hadn't gotten anyone's attention. I strode to the bar-like counter straight in front of me and waited for a worker to notice me. Finally, after waiting for about five minutes, a blonde, not-too-shabby looking dude walked over towards me. "Hello, how could I help you on this fine afternoon?" He gave me a smile that reached from ear to ear.
I'm gonna be honest, I was a little creeped out, but I didn't let it show. Instead, I put on my own smile and answered him as politely as possible. "I would like to speak with, um Rob please?" I said a little too fast. I started shifting on my feet, getting more nervous by the minute. "I have an interview?"
He looked at me quizzically before he turned and went into the back. I let out the breath I had been holding, trying to calm my nerves down before I messed anything up. Within another second, the blonde came back with an older man. His hair was like salt and pepper, black and white. He had a full beard and mustache, bright blue eyes, he was taller than I had expected him to be. About a foot taller than I. And he sure looked to be one to go to the gym. If I was into older-older men, I would already be swooning. But I wasn't. My eyes widened at the intimidating look he had. His bushy eyebrows forming in natural mean-looking ones. His lips were quirking up in a small smile before he held out his large hand, I tentatively took it and shook it with as hard a grip I could muster up.
He nodded at me, "Thank you for coming. You are right on time. Please, follow me." He said with a deep and almost scratchy voice, then he dissappeared into the back again. I looked over at the blonde raising my eyebrow, he just raised both of his shoulders before letting them fall down again then getting back to work. I went around the corner and pushed open the only door behind. His office was relatively small for a man of his size. It just consisted of an oak wood desk, two leather chairs next to eachother in front of it, and two filing cabinents on each side of his black rolling chair behind his desk. One floor lamp lit the entire room.
I sat in one of the chairs crossing my legs. "I take it you already know my name then?" He nodded with a 'Mhm' before taking out a pile of papers from the left filing cabinet and setting them on his desk. I sat still and waited for him to start asking me some questions.
It was silent for about five minutes the air filled with rustling papers before he finally settled and asked me a question. "What made you want to work at this particular café?" Well that was an easy one.
