Chapter 4: 4 Threats

I threw all my books into my locker knowing I wouldn’t need them. We only had to get papers signed by our parents and I wasn’t lugging home books for no reason. The first day of school was finally over and it went nothing like I had planned it would.

I am now talking to The Triple Threats and am even making a deal with him. Which by the way, I still have no idea what it is. Apparently, Aaron wanted to do it more in private so now I had to meet up with them later on today. I don’t know how I felt about becoming part of their plan but there was something pushing me to do it.

I closed my locker and looked up. When my eyes landed on her, I realized what that push was. Sam stood there with her body pushed up against Riley’s as they kissed and laughed. My stomach twisted into a nauseating pain and I wanted to go over there and scream at her.

But I didn’t.

She was done with me and my ‘sorry excuse of a life’. Her head turned, moving her hair and my eyes caught a glimpse of the scar that was above her right eyebrow. Even after we went through that, she couldn’t stay by my side?

Not being able to look at Sam any longer, I started walking towards the front of the school, wanting to go home and relax before I was finally revealed the plan by the guys. I hung my head when I had to past the happy couple but it wasn’t good enough.

“Ellie!”

Just keep walking. She has nothing for you know. She made that point this morning.

“Hey!” My arm was wrenched back and I tumbled into a body. I turned to see Sam with her eyebrows furrowed. Her face was so different, it pained me to look at her and know she wasn’t my best friend anymore. “Didn’t you hear me calling you?”

“Yeah.” I said monotone.

Hurt crossed her eyes for a second. Why was she hurt? She abandoned me not the other way around. “I’m really sorry how this morning went down Ellie. I wish I could go back and—“

“But you can’t and I doubt you honestly want too.” I cut her off. “You seemed pretty honest when you said you didn’t want to be friends anymore.”

She looked at the ground. “Look Ellie—“

She was cut off, once again.

“Summer!” Vincent was grinning at me as he slung an arm over my shoulder. “What are you doing?” He didn’t even notice Sam standing there. Her mouth was hitting the floor as she stared at Vincent and I.
