I woke up on Friday to my cat Charlie purring on my chest. I sat up moving Charlie onto my lap, "Hey, bud." I yawned, scratching his head. Glancing down at my phone I realized I only had twenty minutes to get ready and get to school. "Shit!!" I yelled climbing out of bed, Charlie flying onto the floor. "Sorry Charlie!!" I called as I rushed into the bathroom to brush my teeth.
After quickly getting dressed in a dark blue t-shirt and black jeans, I ran downstairs and grabbed a plum out of the fruit bowl on the counter. "Bye ma! I'm heading to school." I said grabbing my leather jacket as I closed the front door and jumped in my car.
Pulling into the school I walked towards my friends, frowning as I saw Kelsey standing with them. As I reached them, I ignored her when she walked over and wrapped her hands around my arm. Shrugging her off I started talking about the party tomorrow.
When the five-minute bell rang I started walking to class, Kelsey following me. "Benjamin are you going to pick me up for the party?" she looked at me with a flirtatious smile and I rolled my eyes at her in response, causing her to pout. "Come on babe, why not?"
"One, we aren't dating and two, last time I gave you a ride to a party you almost threw up in my car afterward." Kelsey blushed and stormed off, bumping into Olivia as she did. "Watch it freak!" she scoffed, walking off again.
I watched Olivia roll her eyes at Kelsey's fading figure and smirked, walking over to her. "Little does she know, you actually are a freak." I winked at her and I heard her mumble "oh my gosh." as she rubbed her eyes with her fingers. "There are some things you just don't say this early in the morning, Benjamin." I let out a loud laugh, "Oh just you wait for it Liv, just you wait."
I walked away before giving Olivia a chance to respond, making it to class with barely a minute to spare. My teacher glared at me as I took my seat. Shrugging at her with a smirk on my face, I pulled my homework out and left it on my desk as she began collecting it.
Lunch came quickly and I went to my car to go get food from the Denny's down the street. When I got there I went to the booth my friends always sat at and waited. A few minutes later they walked in, laughing loudly at something Asher said.
"Welcome back boys, what will you be having today?" Mary asked us, taking Asher's order first. Mary always took our orders whenever we came here for lunch, ever since freshman year. She walked away after I ordered last.
"So how's tutoring with what's her name? Youve been doing it for like two weeks now." Dustin asked, looking up at me from his phone. "It's fine. I expect my grade will go back up to an A honestly with how much shes been helping me. I honestly learn better from her than I do the teachers, though you never heard me say that."
Evan laughed quietly, "What are you laughing at?" Asher asked, throwing jelly pack at him. "Is that really shocking though? Her parents are strict as hell. Though from what Jen tells me, once they had Hunter, her little brother, she's pre-prince Cinderella, though without the cleaning. I think they have a house cleaner for that." He finished, taking a sip of his soda.
"I totally forgot Jennifer is her neighbor! Oh, the information she could give me now." I laughed though Evan threw the jelly packet that was thrown at him at me. "Doubt it. Jen always talks about how she never leaves the house. Like she's on house arrest or something. It's weird."
"Maybe she's kidnapped. Maybe they both are!! Oh my god, I'm googling the FBI's Missing Person list!!" Asher said excitedly. Dustin just shook his head as Evan and I laughed at him. "Dude you're way too excited about that possibility, though it's totally wrong. She and her brother look alike and Jen remembers her mom being pregnant with Hunter."
"Damn." Asher sighs putting his phone away as the food arrives. All talk of kidnappings and Olivia were dropped as we started eating and talking about the party and how terrible our teachers were.
