I heard my phone go off in my room from the bathroom. "Well, it's too late to back out now." I quickly put on a nude pink velvet lipstick, silently thanking my cousin who got me boxes of makeup last Christmas. I quickly looked over myself. I was wearing a plain black tank top, jeans, and grey sneakers. I frowned a bit at my hair, wanting to do something with it, but I was just going to have to deal with its usual waviness. I shook my head as I walked to my room, This isn't a date, who care about what you look like.'

I grabbed my phone and purse before walking over to the window. When I opened it, I saw Ben standing there, looking up at me. "Hey, you ready? Toss down your stuff first and I'll catch it." He called out when he saw my head pop out of the window. Quickly putting my phone in my purse, I dropped it out, my eyes closed as I did so I wouldn't have to see it drop to the ground. "I got your stuff, now jump. If you're scared, try jumping out facing your house that way you don't see the ground."

I took a deep breath and, as though Ben could feel my hesitation, he called out gently, "I'll catch you, trust me." "Trust you? I don't even know you. Standing down there saying trust me' easy for you to say when your feet are going to stay safely on the ground." I muttered to myself as I started to climb out of my window. "O-okay I'm jumping." I cursed myself for the quivering in my voice. Taking another deep breath, I let go of the window frame, jumping down.

I bit my lip to stop myself from screaming, though I knew that the drop wasn't going to last forever but I was still terrified of breaking any of my bones on Ben. Before my mind could go down the rabbit hole of I'm going to die.' I felt hands grab me, gripping my waist tightly. "Told you I would catch you." Ben murmured into my ear.

He slowly set me on the ground, though his hands stayed in place. I opened my eyes catching Ben staring down at me. One of his hands moved up from my waist to my lips. "Stop that." His voice was still soft, his thumb pulling my lower lip gently from my teeth. My face flushed at he did this. "S-sorry." was all I was able to get out. A smirk appeared on his face as he heard the stutter, I was just grateful he didn't mention it. I was the first one to break eye contact, feeling as though I broke out of a trance.

Ben cleared his throat and removed both of his hands, though his right hand immediately grabbed my left hand, and started pulling me to his car. Opening the passenger door for me, I got in and put on my seatbelt. As Ben closed my door and walked around to the driver side, I tried to calm myself from the earlier encounter. Doesn't mean anything, just calm down and breath.' I kept repeating in my head as I became aware of Ben getting in the car and starting it.

We drove in silence for the first few minutes of the trip. It wasn't an awkward silence, but a comfortable one. Ben was the first one to break it. "So...dinner first then the movie, if that's cool with you." He looked over at me nervously. "Yeah, that works for me. Though I know I'm probably going to buy stuff from the concession stand." Ben laughed loudly at my comment and I felt a slight blush creep onto my face. "Yeah, of course, you can't go into the movies and not get snacks."

He finally stopped laughing and we started talking about trivial things. I learned that Ben had never seen Toy Story and I told him how I'd never been to a zoo before. I rolled my eyes at his comment that he'd take me to the zoo and that we'd watch Toy Story after for our next date. I think he realized he said next' and date' because when I glanced over at him, his face had a pink tint to it, to which I couldn't help but giggle, earning a playful glare from him in return.

"Okay I have another confession to add."I suddenly said when we got to a red light, Ben turned to face me. "What's your other confession?" He asked, a curious look on his face. " I've also never seen any of the Star Wars movies." He was silent for a second, "Have you at least seen the Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter? Because if you haven't we may have to turn around right now and go back to my place to watch them. I don't care if it will be until tomorrow evening that you get home." I covered my face, "No I haven't seen Lord of the Rings, but I have seen Harry Potter." I heard Ben take a deep breath. "Okay...okay the only reason I'm not turning around is because we're near the diner and I already bought the movie tickets, so I suppose seeing at least Harry Potter is fine for now, but I am changing the fact that you have never seen Lord of the Rings eventually, got it?" I couldn't help but laugh, "Yes sir!"
