"Mum? You here?" I collapsed on the sofa, I was exhausted. I had ran five miles from the pack to my car. We were based in the middle of the forest so no one found us. Hunters especially.
"Yes Kit Kat?" Ugh, God I hate it when she calls me that!
"Mum! It's Kat! Can I go camping with some mates for a few days?" I knew I was already allowed. Mum just makes us go through this so we look like a proper family. We're not though. Haven't been for a while. Not since..
"Kat!"
"Huh? Oh yeah! Thanks Mum! I'll be back in a week tops. I take my phone and the guys will keep me safe." I gave her a peck on the cheek before rushing upstairs and grabbing my phone.
"What?" Alpha was grouchy after pack meetings. I was used to it. I had been second in command for 3 years. I was 17 now I was changed when I was 12 but didn't join the pack till I was 14. Alpha was really kind to me, I was really scared for two years. I isolated myself from all my friends and didn't talk to anybody.
"So Guess I can go 'camping'." We both knew I would but I always tell him anyway.
"Cool. By the way I think I might come this time."
"Really you never have before. Why the sudden interest in my job?"
"Just meet me and the boys tomorrow."
