I walked down the hall into Ethan's room. I sat down next to his sleeping body. "Ethan. Buddy, today's your first day of preschool." I said shaking his small shoulder. He groaned and rolled over. After about 5 minutes I gave up. "Michael!" I yelled. I heard him groan as well, and then start trudging down the hall. "What?" He sighed. "Help me get him up! He won't listen to me." "Let him sleep.." He said, rubbing his eyes. "No, I can't. Today is his first day of preschool." Michael nodded in remembrance. he walked over, and put Ethan over his shoulder. Ethan's eyes fluttered open. "I don't wanna go!" He whined. I sighed, and followed Michael. He walked out to the living room, and plopped Ethan on the couch. "listen bud. Your gonna have a great time! You'll meet some new friends. Maybe even a girl." He said wiggling his eye brows. "Ew! Girls have cooties!" I chuckled, and went out to the kitchen to start some coffee. I really didn't want him going to preschool. It just meant he was getting older. He will always be my baby boy though. In a couple weeks he would be four. I felt old.. Was I suppose to feel like this? I was turning 24 in a couple days. His birth was a lot of fun, it being just a couple weeks after my 20th. "How do girls have cooties?" Michael scoffed. "Because!" Ethan said. Oh how he loved the word 'because.' He would always say it. 'Why'd you throw that?' 'Because.' 'Why aren't you asleep?' 'Because.' He had gotten better since Michael came around. I think he was just happy, that it was more than just him and I. They loved each other. It was pretty noticeable. Even though they've only known each other for a little over a week, they had a strong bond. To be honest, I was kind of.. Jealous. I know its kind of stupid, but they do almost everything together. Video games, which I'm kinda happy about; Breakfast, and sometimes lunch and dinner. I barely saw either of them. They were together almost every minute of the day. But it was good for Ethan. Right? I was just afraid, he would get hurt. That Michael would meet someone, and leave. Go with her, and just leave us. Ethan would be devastated. I would be too.. It really has been nice with him around. "Does mommy have cooties?" Michael asked. "N-.. Yes. Mommy has cooties, because she's a girl!" Ethan explained. I walked out. "Oh really Ethan?" I asked setting my coffee down. He looked over at Michael. he smiled. I walked over to Ethan and pulled him up to me. I kissed all over his face. "Ew! Mommy!" He objected. I laughed, "Now you have cooties!" He tried getting down, and escaping to Michael. "No, you have to get dressed." I said, carrying him into his room. I pulled out a black t-shirt, and a pair of jeans. I put them on him, and then we walked back out. Michael had made some toast, and eggs. We ate quickly, then Ethan brushed his teeth. I changed into a pair of jeans and then a sweatshirt. I brushed my own teeth, and hair. Doing my makeup, and throwing my hair up after. I walked back out. "Ready?" I asked them. They nodded, and we all left. after the drive their, we got out, and walked into the small building. "Bye mommy." Ethan said sadly, hugging my leg. "Bye bud. Your gonna have fun. I promise." I said. He walked over and hugged Michael. "Bye." Ethan said. "Bye buddy. Don't kiss any girls." Michael said smiling. Ethan made a face. "Excuse me. It's time to go in now." One of the teachers said to him. I waved. He started into the room. I turned to walk out when I felt his little arms wrap around me again. I turned back around and picked him up. "Bud your gonna have fun. But you gotta go back in." He nodded. "Love you mommy." He said. "Love you too." He walked back in, and Michael wrapped me in a hug. "It's okay." He said rubbing my back. I felt tears start to come up. "Mmhhm." I said. He took my hand and we walked out.
