The Fault in the Crab Face

Chapter 1- Packing up

" Kayla Honey, let me in please"

" I'm sleeping"

"Come on I need to talk to you about the move"

" Fine"

Great. The last thing I needed was my mom trying to talk me out of wanting to stay here, in my hometown.

" I know your sad about the move, but we have to move. For the family."

" Ok "

" Can you please say more than just one word this time I want to know what your thinking"

" I don't want to move. I love it here."

" I know, but we have to. It isn't just for the money, it's for our happiness."

It's not that I don't want to move. Trust me I do. It's just it's so far away, and it's going to be hard because we are moving in with my grandma. She lives in a 4 bedroom townhouse with my grandpa and her dog.

" Well we need to start packing I have some boxes in the hallway for you."

" Ok bye"

" love you"

" love you too..."

I saw the time on my phone. It was 2:47. We were leaving at 3:30. Great I only have that much time to finish packing, go to my friends house and get all my stuff back and say bye, and stop by school to get all of my shit out of my locker.

A half hour later I was finally done packing and I decided to go to the school first because it would take longer. When I got there I noticed they were putting a sign up. It said " Fair well Mikayla Jacks " and The super intendant was standing beneath it. I got out of the car and walked over to the scene.

" Well hello there, Ms. Jacks. How are you?"

" I'm okay"

"What's wrong you seen kind of down?"

" Well I'm not super thrilled about the move"

" Well I know but I felt the same way 24 years ago when I was your age"

" Really"

" Of course! Well let's get into that later. We have some work to do and so do you."

" Ok what is this all about anyways?"

" Well I can't really say much about that..."

"Um... Okay? We'll see ya"

" Goodbye "
