Kidnapped by a Vampire

Chapter 3

"I bit your neck and claimed you as mine."

Wait what? "What do you mean?"

Ryder looks down at the half eaten red fruit in his hands and sighs. "Change the subject Annique."

" Change the subject? I can't, you just-"

"I know what I said!" he growled.

Did he- did he just growl at me? Like really growl? I swear it sounded so legit... maybe I imagined it. You know what, it's probably because I didn't eat breakfast this morning. I have anemia, so when I skip meals I get weak and stuff, that's most likely why I'm a little wack-o this morning.

Note to self: don't skip breakfast, especially when smiley over here is going to start being part of my school day.

Anyways, what do I do now? I want- no I need to ask him what he meant by that but he's being a little scary. Should I change the subject and later bring it up?

I sneak a peek at him. Oh yeah, he looks angry. I should just apologize and change the subject.

"Uh Ryder, you know what? You're right, I'm sorry. You told me not to say anything beforehand and I didn't listen. Let's change the subject, OK?"

Ryder exhaled a breath of relief I didn't know he was holding. He smiled at me but shook his head. "No I'm sorry, I should not have raised my voice at you."

He's apologizing to me? When I'm the one who messed up? What does a girl do in this type of situation? Think Annique, what would Lily do in this situation? Hmmm,knowing Lily she would flirt and look cute doing it.

Okay all I need to do is flirt, that's easy.... Oh who am I kidding, I have no idea whatsoever as how to flirt. How does one do the art of flirting? Flirt, flirt... think about movies. The girl usually twirls her hair and makes a sexy pose right? Well that's definitely a no-no, my hair is in a bun. I wonder if it would look weird if I just took off my bun and let my hair fall down. Ugh, its going to look like a birds nest, my hair is not like the girls from the movies.

I don't even know how the heck actresses do that in movies, that they pull the hair out of a bun or ponytail, and their hairs falls perfectly in place with curls that look like it took hours to do. My hairs the absolute opposite, if  I let my hair out of a ponytail, its a Struggle of life and death. I play tug of war with the stupid plastic band and eventually when it let's go, my hair  is tangled like barbie hair, its so annoying!

And that brings me to another point, it is total BS that girls wake up every morning with perfect make-up and not a hair out of place. Who can honestly say they wake up every morning like sleeping beauty? No one.... at all.

Wait- what was I talking about? Oh crap, Ryder's just stating at me, that creeper. Has he been staring at me with that flaky smile all this time? Focus Annique, you look like an idiot just standing here, just answer the poor guy.

Okay, scratch the flirting instead casually touch his arm like a pal would do and play it cool.. or smooth. Oh god, which one cool or smooth? Stop Annique, you're being a wimp, just wing at it.

I playfully slap his arm and scolded him, "You're right, you shouldn't have raised your voice at me but I accept your apology."

Oh god I slapped him, crap, I ruined it.

Thankfully Ryder didn't seem to mind me assaulting him and instead asked, " Damn why is it so hot out here?"

Really dude? You choose the weather as the subject?
