The Apprentice

a New Beginning

"Fiel!" he heard the Alchemist calling for him "Where did you put the scroll that man gave last night?"

'Scroll?Visit?' Fiel thought 'Nobody visi- wait... master might have meant that scrunched paper last night.'

"I placed it with the scrunched up ones," he said as he climbed down the ladders. "it's that one tied with a bright azure ribbon" he pointed at the scroll near the Alchemist's elbow.

"Ah, thank you my dear child." said the Alchemist, patting his apprentice's head.

"i really don't know how can i live without him..." Fiel heard the Alchemist sighed as he went to his messy study table.

After a simple yet filling breakfast of chicken sandwich, Fiel cleaned the kitchen for his Master was quite clumsy in cooking. Yet he was in a jolly mood today so he didn't mind.

"Nature and her Graceful Elements♪" he sang in a cheery tune.

He thought of the moonlit moments in the night when he would find himself awake unable to sleep.

Those were the nights when he would write...

He was busy scrubbing a blueberry stain on table, when the door bell rang.  He washed his hands and made his way to the door, only to find that his Master answered it.

"Fiel, Maya's here. Get your things ready, she's waiting in her car"

His Master went outside, probably continuing his conversation with the teacher.

Fiel went to his room in the tower and slung his prepared backpack over his shoulders. He took his song book and clutched it tightly as he carefully made his way down the ladder again. He softly landed and made his way throughout the door.

The Alchemist was laughing with Maya, his history teacher whom was the head of the Arts club. He smiled when saw Fiel coming out of the door.He strode over to the young child and hugged him,

"Becareful at school my dear, if anything happens, find Maya" he whispered to his beloved apprentice.

"Yes Master" Fiel replied and dutifully went into the car, excited

at the thought of finally going to school and meeting people. Today was a new beginning for his life.
