Have you ever payed attention to your surroundings?
Did you see the the man in the white cap and robes cursing into his phone?
Had the woman with the blue hair and the tongue piercing managed to catch your eyes?
Perhaps you were too busy trying to understand where the constant beeping sound was coming from.
Maybe even too preoccupied to see the mother chasing her son down the street.
Maybe he was too busy chasing the most beautiful blue butterfly he had ever seen to notice the car coming straight at him.
Not even the cyclist with the neon blue socks coming down the street could stop what was about to happen.
Brakes squealed, but it was too late.
You definitely noticed the mother sobbing and clutching her limp son.
There was no way you missed how the boy looked,
precisely the moment he died.
There was a spark behind his eyes, even when he was in agonizing pain, but once he left
there was nothing.
There is no travelling back in time to fix this.
