After I’d finished my lunch, Amelia had walked in and cleaned up the glass. There were no words exchanged, only a calming silence in the room. I was so glad that it wasn’t awkward between us.

It only took her a few minutes and she was out of the room the instant she’d finished scrubbing the red stain until it couldn’t be scrub any longer. Not a single word or even a smile was sent my way before she closed the door.

I was holding the piece of glass that I’d gotten from the broken beer bottle. Twirling it in my hand, I was contemplating what might be going on back with the boys. I wondered whether Zayn and Perrie were back from their honeymoon.

I admit that I was staring at Amelia’s back when she was cleaning up the bottle and the spill.

Oh please, you were looking lower than that.

I heard a knock on the door and I quickly put the glass piece behind the pillow again. I tried to relax from the sudden startle the knock gave me.

“Come in.” I said, as calmly as I possibly could.

She opened the door and looked nervous. The only time I’d ever seen her nervous was when she was talking about her parents.

“I honestly have no idea why I’m here, but I’m bored so, here I am.” She plonked herself down on the bed, smoothing the sheets out with her hands. An obvious sign that she was indeed bored.

“Well, how am I supposed to help with that?” I asked, a little too rudely for my liking. The last time I got cocky bad things ended up happening.

“Well…never mind, it’s nothing. It’s a dumb idea.” She said, completely ignoring the rudeness that laced my previous words.

“No, no. I want to hear it.” I urged her to tell me.

“Well, I was thinking maybe we could, um, do something together.” She said, hiding her face from me. She felt insecure right now, I wasn’t quite sure why. I was the one stuck in this bedroom.

“Hey, there’s no reason to hide. What were you thinking?” I asked, intrigued with what she wanted to do.

“I was thinking that we could play another get to know each other game.” She said, looking up at me as if asking whether she should go on or not. I simply nodded and she smiled at me.

“Okay, so it’s called two truths and a tale. You know it?” She asked, getting really excited and you could see this newfound glimmer in her eye, something that wasn’t there a second ago.

I shook my head, “no, what is it?” I said. Hopefully I won’t mess up like I did with that other game. Was it called 20 questions or 21 questions? Anyway, that was irrelevant.

“Basically I say three facts about me, two of which are true, but one being false. You have to guess which one is false.” She states.

“That kind of makes sense.” I said, nodding my head.

“Here, I’ll go first. I was born in November, I’m a sucker for Churro’s and I have a cat named Whiskers. Now you have to guess which one I’m lying about.” She looked at me eagerly.

I started thinking. She must be quite a good liar or is really good at this game because she didn’t falter at all. There was no stutter to suggest the answer.

I thought hard, if I was gonna play this game then I was gonna try real hard to win it.

“You don’t have a cat, let alone one named Whiskers.” I said, crossing my fingers, hoping that I was right.

“Good job, Harry. Spot on.” She suggested.

I fist pumped the air, “I win that round.” I shouted in success.

“There are no winners or losers Harry, only triers and quitters.” She said.

I sat back down slowly.

“Oh, okay then, I still won.” I said, pinching my shirt and fanning my chest with it.

“Well, it’s your turn anyway Harry.” She stated. Looking at me with expectant eyes.

“Okay… I love All Time Low, I have had acute lung cancer and I have 32 cousins.” I said.

“I’m guessing you never had lung cancer.” She said, looking pretty hopeful.

“Hah, wrong. I knew I’d get you on that one. It’s kind of a family secret thing. Which is why I have no idea why I told you. I guess I can trust you with that sort of thing. But anyway, I don’t have 32 cousins, I only have something around 10.” I said.

“Really? That’s so sweet. Thanks Harry. Seriously though, I would’ve thought that you had 32 cousins.” She said. She was trying to mask up the fact that I was her supposed idol and she lost at a get-to-know-each-other game. I think she was feeling a little disappointed with herself.

“It’s your turn.” I said excitedly, I was loving this game so far.

“Okay. I have a brother, my nose twitches when I’m nervous and… I have a collection of snapbacks.” She said.

“Your nose doesn’t twitch at all, not even when you’re nervous.” I said, smiling victoriously because I knew that I’d gotten it right.

“Geez, you can read me like a book, ay?” she said, she didn’t look like she was disappointed anymore. It actually looked like she was really enjoying this game.

“Okay, my turn…”

“Hey, it was fun playing this game with you but I’ve got to go. It’s getting close to sundown.” She said, pointing at the sun outside the window.

“What!? How long were we playing for?” I said, looking out the window in awe. The sunset was beautiful.

“I’d say probably four hours.” She said, getting up to go.

“Hey, these past few hours have been quite enteraining.” I said, “I never thought being held captive could be so fun.” I chuckled as she did.

She walked out of the room still chuckling to herself.
