Chapter eleven; Don't you know that you're toxic?

Marias pov

Delilah put her paw on my leg as she sprawled out,i opened my presents.

Harvey got me a pink mug with a lyric cast into it, Along with a bag of cheetos.

Jim got me a box of chocolates and a expensive looking ring.

Ed got me chocolates,perfume, flowers and necklace.
I slipped off my old ring and put on Jims ring he got me,i ate some chocolates and adored my new mug.

I put the flowers in a vase and set everything on my desk, Delilah meowed and strut up to me.

Placing herself in my lap,curling up and falling asleep. Her paws were still kneading my thigh.
The ring Jim had got me was sparkling- Oh my god its real diamond, i adored the ring and my perfume.

"Harvey outdid himself." I said to myself,before popping a red cheeto in my mouth.

I sigh as i my phone rang, it was Jim.

"Hello, Maria. I was wondering if you wanted to have coffee with me tomorrow morning?.." He asked, steadily.

"Okay, since our date was postponed." I say giggling.

He coughed slightly,
"Date?.. i-" I shook my head and cut him off, "You know what i mean!." I say before smiling to myself.

"Oh.. Yeah i knew.. I uhm..Alright see you at ten tomorrow..at joes, for police business.." His voice crackled through the speaker, i smiled even more.

"Yeah! Okay bye!" I say,

"Bye." He says, before hanging up the phone.

I wonder if Ed would call me.. Hm.

My eyes flutter towards my phone once more, i put in Eds number.

As i'm about to call him my phone rings, he called me.

"Hello.." He says into the phone, i suck in a sharp breath and my hands get all weird and tingly.

"Hi, Umm-" He cuts me off,

"I'm gonna come over, i'll be there in ten." He says abruptly, i jerk back.

"O-oh..Okay..Bye" He hangs up, i sigh and pick Delilah up, placing her on a pillow.

I dust my hands off and put my presents away, i stroll to my kitchen.

My hands reach towards the cupboard, my fingernails barely grip the mug at the top. I set it down and make myself coffee.

Delilah comes into the kitchen again and meows as i stir the sugar in, i turn to her.

"Delilah, go to sleep.. You know Ed isn't fond of you." I tell her, she meows like she's arguing. I sigh then briskly say
  "Just go back to the room." she meows and runs to the lounge room.

I sigh then start to feel silly, why was i talking to her..I'm sure people do that. (A/N: I have two cats and a dog, people do that.)

I sit down on my sofa and drink my coffee, midway i hear the door unlock. I waddle to the door,

"Hey.." Ed is wearing a jumper and trousers, he's dressed quite sharply,i smile as he pulls me into his warm embrace.

"Lets go on that date then." He says, i part my lips a bit before he kisses me. I kiss back before pulling away, "let me get ready." i say coolly,turning to my room.
