Ripper turned his head to see a female raptor standing in the doorway. "LEAVE HIM ALONE!" she shrilled before pouncing on him. He scarcely had time to react, and staggered to the side. Ripper grabbed her tail, throwing her down. In a moment, the raptor was on her feet again, screeching wildly. She attacked again, and Ripper smashed through the bed frame. Maisie screamed. The Indoraptor threw the striped menace off again, snapping his jaws at the man before getting bitten. The little worm wouldn't even give him a chance to get to Maisie.

The man carried Maisie out the window. Terrified for the first time in his life, Ripper tried to bull rush his way to the window, but the raptor tackled him. "Get back!!!" she roared. "Get off me!" Ripper shot back. He grabbed the raptor and slammed her into the window. She scrambled away before he could crush her. Snorting with fury, Ripper charged. The raptor jumped out of the way and Ripper fell outside. Damn it, my head...he thought. Ripper looked up to see Maisie and the man scaling the roof.

The dinosaur leapt up after them. He took a step forward, only to feel the glass underneath give way. Oh no, I better be careful... he thought. The storm had really blown in at this point, and the wind howled eerily all around them. Ripper roared in fury at the man, but Maisie slipped, nearly falling off the roof. Scared, Ripper approached them slowly. "Stay still, Maisie! I'm coming!" Ripper barked.

A loud, clanging noise was heard behind him. He turned to see a woman wielding a gun. Ripper bellowed at her. How dare she?! The woman flipped a switch, and a bright red laser shone from within the weapon. Ripper's eyes bulged at the sight of it. His gaze landed on the man. That man must die, he must he must he must...

A high pitched noise screamed madly in the pouring rain. With a snarl, Ripper went for the man. He jaws came down on nothing but thin air as he fell halfway through the roof. The Indoraptor scrambled after the man, but he had gotten away. Ripper was now dangling mere feet from a Triceratops skull. With the remainder of his strength, Ripper pulled himself back onto the roof.

"Damn you!" Ripper yelled at the man before fixing his attention on Maisie. The girl gave him a worried look. "Maisie, it's okay..." the Indoraptor purred, shaking off the freezing water. "Come to me, alright? It's not that far." Maisie took a few steps forward, then froze. She looked terrified.

"Maisie, what's wrong?" Ripper asked. A screech echoed from behind him. Ripper whipped his head around to see the female raptor flying at him. Their combined weight plus the force brought them both crashing through the glass roof. They fell, biting and scratching. Ripper grunted when he felt a stabbing pain in his chest, tail, and neck. Blood filled his mouth.

Wheezing, Ripper looked up through the blinding rain at Maisie. Tears were in her eyes. The raptor screamed in victory before running away. "Maisie..." Ripper choked. He was fading. Memories flashed before his eyes.

[Maisie and Ripper cuddling]
[Ripper having his stomach rubbed by Maisie]
[Maisie laughing as Ripper chased his tail]
[Ripper smiling for the first time at Maisie]

"I'm sorry, I failed..." Ripper wheezed as the oxygen slowly and painfully left his body for the final time. It all faded to black.

(Hey guys! Sorry I didn't update sooner. I'm a busy person, so I don't always have time for myself, let alone fanfics. But the next part will be about Maisie and what she does after Ripper's death. Hang in there!)
