"What's a pretty girl like you doing all alone?" Is what I hear from behind me over the soft contemporary music. The owner of this smooth voice takes a seat next me on a barstool, allowing me to see her.
The woman dressed smartly in a suit and a tastefully revealing shirt gives me an alluring smile, her jewels for eyes gleaming at me with mischief. I don't know whether to feel intimidate or intrigued.
I sit up straight, pulling my dress down slightly and crossing one leg over the other while I try to look as flirtatious as I can.
"I'm just getting a drink. It's been a long day." I say briefly before sipping on my whiskey.
"Well, how about I join you, you can tell me about your long day." She gestures to the bartender and two whiskeys appear soon after.
I take her up on her offer and talk to her all night while she listens intently, giving me a few words here and there. The whole time we don't break eye contact and a tension builds between us as we slowly move closer to each other. Her hand somehow ends up caressing my thigh while mine rested on her arm. Our chemistry is unbelievable.
I notice the time on her Rolex watch and realize I've been her longer than three hours just talking to her.
"It's late. I should head home, I've got work tomorrow." I tell her but make no attempt to leave. I don't actually want to leave, and I guess she notices it judging by her following words.
"I can tell that you're enjoying my company, just as much as I'm enjoying yours. I suggest we go over to my place and talk some more. What do you say?"
I bite my lip as I contemplate her suggestion, knowing very well that talk implies more than what it should mean. I mean, there's nothing wrong with that, it's not like I wasn't thinking about it. Besides, what's one night of indulgence going to hurt.
I nod and she gives me a satisfied smile, taking my hand in hers and leading me out of the club.
Our journey doesn't take too long though. Just crossing the street to one of the luxury apartment buildings lining up the street, where she nods to the doorman and rushes us to the elevator. She runs her free hand through her dark brown hair before pressing the button to the highest floor and leans her back on the luxurious elevator's wall next to me. She must be filthy rich if we're going to the penthouse of this building. I'm a little shocked.
"I'm Ruby, by the way." She says softly, looking into my eyes as if she's trying to hypnotize me. That's when I realized we didn't even know each other's names.
"I'm Cleo..." I breathe out still entranced by her eyes. She smiles at me and my heartbeat picks up its pace.
"Lovely name. It suits you perfectly."
The elevator door opens and we walk out to the lone grey door. She opens it and I'm blown away by the elegant and classic decor of the place, the dark colours of the floors and walls perfectly matching the lighter furniture and colourful paintings. How rich is this woman to have pieces that could quite possibly belong in a museum.
"Would you like something to drink? More whiskey perhaps?" She asks already pouring some for me from her bar. I didn't even notice her move away from me since I was so engrossed by her apartment.
"Come closer, I'm sure you'd be more comfortable here on the couch instead of standing over there."
I walk over slowly and take a seat on her soft white coach, taking a sip of the drink she hands to me while she sits close to me with her arm resting behind me on the back of the couch.
