"i'll have 2 eggs with toast," you said to the waitress. she repeated your order and walked away after the confirmation from the both of you. you shifted your gaze to woojin, who had his head propped up on his hands, giving you a goofy smile.

"you're pretty," he commented, tilting his head on his hands. a small smile crept your lips as you looked down on your lap, bashfulness taking over your system.

"so," he started, causing you to raise your head to meet his eyes. "i wanna know, why were you so cold to me that day?" well ain't he straightforward. you let out a big sigh bracing yourself for the reaction you're about to get.

"frankly, i don't believe in love. i think it's bullshit," you simply said, causing woojin's face to contort into one filled with confusion. he gestured for you to carry on, in which you just shook your head in response, not wanting to elaborate further. how were you supposed to explain your fear of falling in love? "it's not that deep. i just don't think it's possible to love somebody. i feel like you're just caught up in a moment." he nodded, as if he understood but his face told you otherwise. he was still confused as hell.

"well if that is so, let me be the one to show you love is real," he said nonchalantly with a smirk.

"i doubt so," you said under your breath, but loud enough for him to hear you. he opened his mouth to say something before closing it as the waitress came back with your food.

"so you're originally from australia but you came here to study? and you have a younger brother named felix?" woojin asked after you told him about your family life. briefly, of course. you weren't gonna expose your family drama to a person you just met. you nodded, confirming his statement. his mouth made an 'o' as he found that part about you intriguing. you giggled at his reaction. you had to admit, he's cute. as much as you were trying to look for reasons as to why he isn't worth the effort, he seemed to not have any deal breakers nor any red flags. it frustrated you to no end that he didn't have a single flaw. nonetheless, you made a mental note to remain cautious. besides, this was exactly how it started with chris and look at how it ended.

"well, that was fun," you broke the silence as the both of you walked back to your apartment. he insisted on sending you home despite continuously declining his offer. you looked up to see him smiling down on you.

"yeah, it really was," he replied. his hand nudged yours before slipping to hold it. looking down at your interlocked hands, you blushed, heat spreading across your cheeks.

what the fuck y/n let go!

your body decided to listen to your heart over your brain as the both of you swung your hands between your bodies happily.

"so, i'll see you again?" woojin asked, full of hope, as the both of you stood in front of the door to your apartment. you pretended to think before nodding, forming a big smile on his face. you started laughing at his reaction. your laughing ceased as you realised he started to lean towards your face. your heart started racing as panic rose inside you.

"i should get inside. it's getting kinda chilly," you interrupted. his face dropped and he nodded in understanding. the both of you said your awkward goodbyes before you disappeared into the building.

he gasped as he suddenly woke up. he reached the back of his neck, feeling the layer of sweat coating it. he wiped his face before sitting up, his face contorting from the pain in his head. he glanced at the clock, groaning at the fact it was only 2am in the morning.

"why is she still haunting my dreams?"

he took some painkillers for his head and proceeded to wear his shoes. he left his house, and journeyed through the usual path he's been taking every night since your disappearance.

he rounded the corner to the breakfast place where you both had your first date. he looked into the dark diner, the chairs stacked up on the tables. he stood there, reminiscing. how beautiful you looked, the excitement in your face as you told him about felix, your general quirkiness. he knew from that moment on that you were special, even though it was only the first date. he shook his head before continuing his journey.

he continued walking till he stopped in front of your apartment building. he remembered the softness of your hand, engulfed by his own, almost kissing you, the awkward goodbyes. he also thought about the memories he had with you in your apartment. tears formed in his eyes as he sat down on the bench beside the front entrance. he missed you, dearly. he didn't know what he did wrong for you to just disappear like that. he blamed himself for it though, thinking that it's all his fault.
